below and to the left of the Part Number. If it reads 5395 6040
then you have Ricoh...if it is anything else then you are probably
stuck with CMC.

code 57033021 works for 20 off 75. Probably going to order some tommorow.

What is better to get and why ? -r or +r ??? Thanks

btw: Price is $89.97 for me .

Depends on your burner.

Its still 3/13.....

The coupons stacked, but the price is 89.99, not 79.99.

This media isnt very good according to the reviews at dvdrhelp.com

That worked out great!

Ended up being $75 for the 100.

Thanks!

I have a lite-on 8x from the last OM deal it does - and + So which should i get ?

OfficeDepot brings me back a price of 89.97 for both types of media. Did you do anything special to get the $79 price?

$79 total is OK for 100 media, but not as hot as $59 would be.

Edit: Regarding media quality, if the DVD+R are RICOH disks this would be a good deal. I'd frown if they were CMC, though.

Come on guys, read the topic - "..Office Depot 3/14 maybe $59.97..."
The sale price of $79.97 starts tomorrow, Mar 14.

Use the $20 off $75 coupon code 57033021 to make the final deal of $59.97 + tax (Shipped)

Would this memorex, or would the Staples TDK be a better deal?

Can someone please tell me what media is best to use - or + and why. Thanks

still alittle too much for me i am going to hold out on this one

Spikey, get the + one!
I heard that Memorex 4X DVD+R media can be burnt to 8X using the 8X DVD+R burner.

usual belief is
-R for DVD movie
+R for DVD data backup

Sorry if I wasn't clear before, the deal starts Sunday(3/14). I'm not sure when OD updates their prices. I bought some +R 25pk a few months ago and they were ricohjpn01, hopefully the 50pk are the same. I heard that the -R are compatible with more DVD players, but my +R writer can burn DVD+R as a DVD-ROM (Bit setting) so it plays in an older DVD player that the -R didn't play on.

What if i use +r for movie, any bad?
BTW: I alway use +r. Some movies I burnt when played on my panasonic dvd player have unstable picture. But my computer play them fine. Is this because of +r or dvd area code incompatible?

LOL - Those might be your belief!!!

Im going to go with the -r in that case. They are more for movies and games for my xbox. Thanks. I hope they update the price soon

That because the media that you used was maybe unreliable.

I've been backing up 300+ DVDs using DVD+R. I only use name brands, like: TDK, Memorex & Fuji

Choosing the correct format for video purposes depends on your DVD player
Here's a couple of links to help, for instance playing back movies on an XBOX requires +R
Hope this helps!

Compatibility link for DVD players and +RText

Check out the database at dvdrhelp.com if you want to know if + of - is better. The answer is: it depends!

For example: my lite-on (in my PC) is *supposed* to be +/- for burning, but can't do any better than 2X with -r. So I use +r when burning from that drive. My older Pioneer (in my Mac) cranks out -r at full speed, so it gets the -r discs.

Plus, if I'm burning a *home* movie (of the kids for their grandparents ) and my dad's old Toshiba chokes on +r's I make sure to burn on -r's when they go to him...

Check to see what your playback machine likes and what your burner can (truly) burn on.

Sorry,here's the -R linky

when does OD site update the prices for sunday because the price is still $89 for me

coupons work for me also

Still 89.xx here when it's 3/14 already. anyone get 79.xx?

Coupons work though.

For you... US has lots of time zones my friend.

Everyone CALM down, just order it now. OD has a pricematch policy, so call them back tomorrow to get another $10 off
I just ordered mine for $75.74. I will call back to get another $10 off.

maybe OD is going on PT zone. the staple deal is better although PM is a YMMV.

low availability now

One thing to consider is the DVD+R 4x MEDIA has been burning @ 8x on many units.

For those that got in on the ARITA 100 packs @ OfficeMax last month / they we're
subbing with thse memorex + discs

DVD+R is high quality RICOH media

memorex 4X DVD+R is both ricoh and CMC. luck of the draw which one you get.

I just bought a NEC 2500A from Newegg and it burns this RICOHJPN media at 6x. If you want to get a great deal , buy the 4x DVD+R's. I got 50 from Staples for $.80/each and then another 100 from Amazon for $85!! I am clueless as to why memorex is trying to offload these for so cheap!

Anyone having trouble apply the coupons...says the function is temp. unavailable???? 12:53am CST

Lex

Now I can't even check out??? Weird?

Skipping 425 Messages...

It took two weeks but my two 50 dvd-r spindles arrived today with B1G1 & $20 coupon applied. Not really expecting these to come through, I had already ordered 100 disk spindle of generic 4X Memorex at ~$.60/ea. which have been burning flawlessly with my NEC-ND2500A. Hope I can burn the OD disks at 6X...
