I told myself I didn't need another case right now, but I did not listen.
Online says the case is available at several stores near me. Is that reliable? Or am I going to rearrange part of my afternoon and find it's not there?

The $30 MIR is now linked from the product page. This case looks like my Antec LAN BOY case (the original version) except that it's made of steel instead of aluminum and has a 300W instead of 350W. I think the power supply alone is worth the price. |

Ordered the case last night, went to bed, and woke up this morning to this email:
We are unable to confirm product availability because the store you chose for pickup [snip] is not open. We'll send you an e-mail with a pickup date as soon as we hear from the store. Check availability this morning and the closest store with it in stock is 50 miles away (vs 2 miles for the one I ordered it for). WTF?!@#! Guess I don't get my case after all. |

Do they still have the "Friendship bridge" running alongside too? That was a great place to rollerblade/bike/run.
Yup, it's still there. Case still showing up as available in-store for me, so I'll be heading there in an hour or two... |

LINK Model # isn't exactly the same, but appears to be the same case...
LOL Quoting myself...yes, the case @ CC *also* has a $30 MIR, and it's from Antec, so I'd say these two ARE the same. PLUS, the $30 MIR @ CC gives it away - the second line of the address specifically reads "SLK2600 $30 REBATE"
So if you want this case and BB is out, you can have CC PM BB (since they have a $10 IR) and still get it. |

Yeah I know....that's what I thought when I saw it. Basically, it's "buy the PS, get the case for free" LOL
I'd just really prefer the 2-fan models (with the fan on the bottom) so help get the heat out, but hey, who's complaining at that price, right? |

No, please try to be MORE illiterate next time. LOL
I still have about $500 on two BB GCs, so that's why I'm going there...I was really hoping someone else would have a better out-the-door price to try a PM with. |

I actually had this exact antec case, and I didnt like it Its ventilation was quite poor, if you look at the power supply and how its offset away from the motherboard, there is a small area behind it that heat builds up. The single 80mm exhaust fan didnt do very much since it wasnt mounted high enough up. FYI: The case is almost identical to the original Antec Lanboy
Although, for $30 + tax on $50 is not a bad deal.

I was thinking the same thing when I read your post--the substance of your post "sucks hard," threadcapper...no misnomer there. |

NO! it will not work. The Dell motherboard has proprietary connections. Though I think someone was successful in jerryrigging it into the case. |

I looked at this case in CompUSA yesterday. Although $30 is a good deal, I wouldn't give much more for it. The plastic bits of the case are pretty cheesey, particularly the drives door which has the quality of an ice cream tub lid. Make sure you see this before you buy it, and don't assume that just because it's an Antec that it's great quality. However, it's almost worth it for the PSU alone. |
