Nice Post OP,
I agree with your comment about the graphics card, but a 13.3" widescreen? Even with the rebates it should be at least a 15" to drop that much on a lappy. |

This is a really good price for this laptop if you can get the rebates. Cost on it is over $1,850 |

You mean like - "we'll repair it for %120 of the cost of a new unit?"
That my familiarity with Sony... |

Actually Worstbuy seems to always stock up on these heavily for the holidays, and then has fire sales in mid December because they ordered too many.
You would think they would learn by now... Oh wait forgot which store I was talking about there for a sec... |

I noticed the weight, and believe me I aint no Joe steroid user, but I never found a problem with using an 8 lb laptop. Get a cushion padded Targus bag and half the time you forget its even there. Just like a good golf club bag... |

Yeah and on the 13.3" issue....I just ordered the 700m and I'm worried about it being TOO big. Lots of people pay a premium for smaller form factors. I dropped $1500+ on a Fujitsu P2000 series a couple years ago and it wasn't just the most stable laptop I've used, it was the most stable computer period. On top of that the resale value was ridiculous. |

haha yeah sony warranty is crap, but better than nothing. one of the only companies that charges shipping and handling fees on warranty repairs. hope they got ride of that policy, but doubt it.
i had the LCD on my 505 die 3 times and finally Sony was "nice" and offered to give me 10% off a new one hahahaha. I just laughed at them and got AMEX to take it back through their warranty program (they were really nice about it too, it was my one and only claim so far) |

ditto, I'm wondering about this in order to use the 10% coupon code --> what does it say on the invoice? |

I've never done the office advantage program, but i just read it and it says you can only get a maximum of $50 per quarter or something like that, meaning that a purchase of $500 or more you only get $50, so not exactly 10% off |

Why are you worried abot the 700M being too big? Use that as a strong selling point when you go to sell it. Many people bought the 700M model because of the big widscreen. (And the fact that it was not a Celeron)
As for the laptop itself, how do you like it overall? You were able to order one before I could get home and order one for myself online that day. Those went very fast... |

So if they don't want the original UPC, whats stopping you from returning this item after copying it? They track the serial # or something?
edit: Also, is there really a risk here? How often do rebates like this become issues down the road? /edit |
