I'm getting O&A just for her. Did they ever apologize to her about the whole wig incident? |

M3thodman said:fercho said:How do you buy them at this price if you are a current customer?
I haven't ordered through this offer although I'm tempted to get yet another one... but when I ordered through a similar (not F&F) offer earlier this year, I just made sure to subscribe it to the same name and billing address.
After I got the unit and installed it, I called up Customer Service and asked "how do I go about adding this to my main account under the Family Plan" and they said that since it was a promotional offer (and I had pre-paid for 3 months at regular monthly price), I couldn't merge it into the main account until the 90 days were up.
I called after 90 days and they instantly merged the two accounts and gave me the 2nd unit at the discounted Family Plan rate from then on.
I assume this offer will work similarly but maybe someone else can confirm.
I ordered my SkyFi (original version) a year and half back on a F&F promo. At that time they contacted the XM employee to be sure they "knew" you. It does not appear to be the case now. Back then, they set up a seperate account for the new tuner and required it be the main tuner (at full price) for 6 months. Back then, I had to call to have them move them onto the same account and they messed up and charge me an activation fee - but in the end they got them all on the same account.
On this new deal it says in the fine print it can be on the family plan or as the primary, same fine print as the O&A promo.
I ordered a SkyFi(1) kit from the O&A promo for my daughter as a Christmas present. They caught the fact that I used the same billing address and AMEX as I use for my other XM stuff and combined it onto my account for me - even though I used a different e-mail addy. I STILL had to pay full price (on the prepay) for the first 3 months, but the next 3 required should be at the $3 discount.
I ordered one of these F&F SkyFi2 kits for my wife (she was complaining that I she did have XM when I told her I got it for our daughter). I used the same AMEX and e-mail addy as the O&A promo and I got the order confirmation. "We will see" if they follow through and ship. I would expect if they do they will again combine this onto my existing account. I was going to get one of the $40 car kits and re-activate my old SkyFi (I shut it off last month when I got the new SkyFi2) which would cost $10. So for the same price I get the new SkyFi2 and no activation fee.
I think XM is "crazy like a fox" as they say. sirius has signed Howard and is TRYING to reach the magic 1 million subscriber mark by the end of the year. XM is about to hit 3 million and does not want to lose any customers to sirius so they have these "deals". Just like D3ll has a "price mistake" on the 400sc servers and this clears out all the last of them and now they sell the newer 420sc.
I would think these would go through, since they care about numbers and subscribers and (like satellite TV and Tivo) could be willing to take a loss on the hardware to get you hooked.

Chip718 said:Does anyone know if the 2 pieces (Boom Box and the receiver) comes packaged together or separately? I am assuming since it says bundle they are in the same box.
In the previous F&F SkyFi deal and the current O&A deal they came retail packaged. In both cases I got the tuner + car kit so I got a tuner in a package and a car kit in a package. I would assume the boombox will be in its normal box and the tuner in the retail "insert curse words here when you try to open it" plastic package. I recently got the boombox for my daughter from eCost for $59 + handling, so getting the SkyFi2 tuner + boombox for $69 is a hot deal.
Seems like I have just been too early this year. Got my e-shopping done, but then keep finding better deals later....

This is a very hot deal. I've been thinking about getting XM recently (although I don't really need it), but seeing $69 for the receiver and boombox made it a no-brainer. |

BTW, I ordered yesterday afternoon and the CC has already been charged, so I assume it ships today. On the prior F&F and O&A deals they shipped mine from Knoxville, TN.

I was just on XMRadio.com (not thru the F&F link) and they want $99 for the SKYFi alone and $169 for the Commander. That's unreal. I would jump on the Commander also, but it is recommended it should be professionally installed.
Is there any difference between the Roadie and SKYFi besides the size and modulator? |

I bought the boombox. I guess I have to wait until I get the radio to get O&A. I checked to sign on and they need the radio model #. |

I'm in for the Skyfi and car kit.
For those considering, there is a new Skifi boom box which is much, much better than the one in this offer. Might be worth it to get the car/home kit, and spend a little extra on a more functional boom box. It is item number SA 10034 at most on-line retailers.
As someone who was going to buy the new Myfi, this deal puts my dilema to rest.
This is a heck of a deal, and I thank the OP for it. I hope it goes through.
Happy holidays. |

MY PERSONAL OPINION.....
Soon, maybe after christmas, they will be free after rebate for the receivers. The Satellite wars have begun. |

I agree poison7FL, There is no doubt that XM & sirius will be vying for customers and one of there tactics will be FAR receivers or free receiver with a service contract. |
