As far as I am aware, Emachines, just like most of the other brands get other OEM products and simply put their name on it.
My M6810 is a good case in point and is manufactured by Arima who also makes the same notebook for the likes of Voodoo PC at twice the price - admittedly with a 128MB vs 64MB Radeon 9600. Is that extra 64MB worth $1400 though?
There will always be a few lemons produced - and that's true for any manufacturer. |

You *MUST* be refering to Best Buy. NOT emachines for example: Best Buy executive meeting, future date of March 2005: -BB exec stooge #1: "Well, it looks like our sales initiative of Barry & Jill has failed miserably" -BB exec stooge #2: "Yes, it indeed has" -Brad Anderson, head BB exec stooge "If the sales associates would have followed my plan more closely, the program would have been a resounding success. In fact, it was successful as we lost the 20% of customers we didn't need" -BB exec stooge #1 "You must be referring to the Devils, aren't you?" -Brad Anderson, head BB exec stooge "Yes" -BB exec stooge #3 "Mr Anderson, pleasure to see you today....I have seen the future Mr Anderson...and it is one without you here"
LOL...I love the Matrix. Looks like BB will end up like Agent Smith unless they get their act together. Unlikely though
Now eMachines is a whole other story!! |

Faster on some apps, slower on others, but a worse battery life.
Great processor, though. And loaded. |

Lets be realistic here....AMD SERIOUSLY over rated the Sempron CPUs. This CPU only runs at 1.6ghz with 256kb l2 cache and they rated it 2800+....NOW WAY is it near 2800+ performance...A 1.6ghz Pentium M will walk all over this sempron like its a joke...
Benchmarks confirm the semprons being WAY over rated by AMD... |

the amd xp ratings were pretty accurate... a pity that amd is abusing it now |

ram is expandable only to 768MB, isnt that a tad low by today's standards? 60 gig HD wouldve made me happy 2 years ago, but feels like 100+ gigs is what I need these days. |

This is a hot deal. I have the emachines 5310 and it's one of the best notebooks I've used. Bought an HP before that and the massive software bundle, slow speed, and no wireless card made it go back to CC.
At $699 - $50 snail mail gift card (received this over the weekend) - $50 reward zone = $599 AR. Hot! |
