I got my phone yesterday.
I was surprised that it was as easy to set up as it is.
Very cool phone. Web browsing is slow and the screen is small, but it is great for those times when you are in an airport or something and don't have a pc and don't want to carry a laptop.
The keyboard took a little getting used to, but I was up and running at a pretty good speed in a few hours. |

UPDATE:
Just an update: $70.00 Charge for Activation (35.00 per line) on my T-Mobile Bill. I've left messages with Venicom (no answer) and when i finally do get through i get transferred to a voice mail to leave a message (ha-ha). T-Mobile refuses to help me. Says the Activation fee is mandatory? Hmmmm!
So Watch Out for Your Bill with those activation fees that should be FREE!

Hey OP... i got that too but then i talked to their ops dept. at 602.277.0000 extn. 123 and talk to connie.. dont leave a message just call back... she will check it and get back to you if your information has been sent or is in the process of being sent to Tmobile.. according to them, we should get a refund in a couple of billing cycles.. at this point i believe they are quite genuine about this...

I am a current T-Mobile customer. Has any other current customers gotten this deal to work? Is it possible to switch and keep your phone number? |

I was a current T-Mobile customer, but got a new activation. I would guess that you could not keep your number. |

Better watch out. I just called and spoke to a salesman there. Told him I was a current T-Mobile customer and that I wanted to take advantage of this Blackberry offer.
The CSR said that I would have to keep both my current phone AND add this Blackberry phone. If I closed my old line after transferring the number, Venicom would get charged back their commissions and would then send a bill of $400+ to you for breaking the deal.
Also, he warned that T-Mobile is watching out for people who cancel their existing lines and immediately open a new one for the Blackberry deal. There must be 90 days between closing your existing line and opening the new one to be considered a "new account".
I decided it was not worth the risk. Hope all works out well for you, iluvsydney.

Got one from Speed Cellular, Fountain Valley, CA: the Sales Manager (Anthony) even sent in the rebate for me. No info on their web site, but their retail store was great with it. Tel: 714-965-4117. He'll ship out of state as well.
For the sceptics out there, I have no connection with them, just a happy customer...
Word of advice: take out the insurance: after 7 days, they will not let you take it out. |

Did you buy 7100t or Treo 600 ? What is your impression so far ? I've seen lot of people unhappy with 7100t as well as with Treo so not sure which phone is better but seems like both phone lacks something. I'm buying primarily for good phone quality, text messaging, internet surfing and email. I'm not heavy IM user so dont care abut it. |

I wanted either Treo 650 or BB 7100. Treo 600 seems obsolete now. For FAR, the 7100t is hard to beat. The Treo 650 seems half baked and i like that the BB has push email. Also, T-moble is only a 1 year contract, sealed the deal for me. |

Is 7100t a slow device ? In terms of input and response to input ? |

Shenaniganz said:I went online to check my CC, Shows as 229.99 Venicom INC. So I guess we really can get more than one. Now I just have to wait and see if i get "both" rebates. I was told I should receive it by Thursday. Seems a bit long for shipping, but I guess I can't complain.
Karmalou what do you mean by advertising smells? I don't work for that company if that's what your implying. I've been a lurker forever and thought I'd contribute for once, Most times I find something and by the time i come to fatwallet there's already someone else that posted it. (Which is not such a bad thing.

Did TMobile charge you 35 USD activation fee for each phone ? As per TMobile's website they charge 35 USD activation for each line

I've been using this phone for about a month now and I have to say that I am really impressed. I have been on a few business trips and really felt like I did not leave my desk (in a good way). Plus, I could keep in touch with friends by e-mail from everywhere. It is very liberating.
The phone and scheduler are also great. I've got all my contacts and appointements available at the turn of a wheel.
The internet access is probably too slow to really use for anything, unless you are desperate and stuck in an airport, which I was. Having so much information available at all times is just really, really great.
It has never crashed. It just works as advertised. My Partner sprang for a Treo 650 and he reports multiple crashes and needs to reboot. Plus, the 650 is much bigger.
If you have a need for this kind of device, I would recommend it in a second. |
