I thought of posting my feedback on this:

- I ordered the instrument through Venicom (ushopwireless.com) and they sent it immediately next day. Though the instrument is free with 1 year contract (voice + data rate, comes to $59.99 per month), they put a massive restriction saying that I cannot do any service changes from T-Mobile and must go through them for anything except billing issues. I could not even change my initial number and had to call Venicom for getting things done. It is impossible to speak to anyone in the customer service, and must always leave a message expecting a call back. They do call back after a day or so but this whole process is very annoying.

- The instrument is leight weight and handy, but the roller pin (to scroll through menus) was a cheap plastic material. Also the menus don't "roll", meaning if you go to the bottom menu item and want to go to the top, you need to scroll all the way upwards instead in the anti-clockwise direction. This is not the way Sony's jog-dial works and whoever designed this phone doesn't obviously use it. Your right thumb or index finger will sure pain if you use this for more than 10 minutes to read through emails. The roller pin is a very crucial piece of the instrument - if that doesn't work - the whole instrument will almost become useless.

I somehow didn't like the instrument, especially the user interfaces and the keyboard and returned it. I only wish the quality of the instrument could have been a little better instead of assembling from very cheap components.

FYI - CompUSA also gives this instrument for $50 & one year contract. As Venicom charges $20 for shipping - all you would pay is an additional $30 if you buy at CompUSA, and can avoid all the hassles of waiting for a phone call from Venicom for anything to do with the service.

Just my 2c.

I just called these people up to order. First, they say that 2 day shipping is $10 more, when the website says it's free ($10 for overnight). Second, the plan I wanted costs $80 a month through them, vs $70 directly from T-Mobile. I told them this and they said that $80 is the only thing they can offer. Told them to forget about it. I'll go to CompUSA tomorrow and get this.

Where is this? My CompUSA has it for $200 after $100 rebate, and that's only with activation.

Did you do this straight through T-Mobile? Svani's post (a couple up) makes it sound like everything has to go through these guys...

Free promotion deal is on until May 6th.
I'm wondering if you have any problem getting rebate from T-Mobile for the 2 phones with family plan. I'm thinking getting two blackberry 7100t phones. Do I have to buy them in same name and billing address? Could you help me how you got the rebate right? only family plan they're offering is $99.99 for 1600mins with data $19.99 for each phone.

When can I switch the plan to lower price and can I cancel data plan $19.99 later on?

Thanks
