I think this is a overall-low price, but it could possible be local. They dropped the prices on the V120. This phone includes a year and is now under $40! Combine it with some free minutes and that just can't be beat for $3 a month averaged out!
The new, blue 1100 with free incoming text messages is also very cheap now at about $36! This one doesn't include the year, but is the cheapest I've seen it yet!

Any links? Which model?What plan?

Code 58685 Gets you 200 FRREEEEE Bonus mins.

SO DOES CODE 54844!!

can I buy this phone, use the 1 year card on my current Tracfone, and sell this V120 - because a one-year 150 minute card costs ~ $94.

How many minutes do you have to buy to get the 200 bonus minutes with this code?

one year card, which comes with 150 minutes.

I just got back from WalMart. Nowhere on the V120 package does it say it includes a year. In fact it referred to the card inside to determine the days, which you couldn't see without destroying the packaging and the salesperson told me it only came with 60 days. How do you know it comes with a 1 year activation?

anyone confirm?? looking to buy one for pre-teen in the next day or so

That is not true. Just back from Wallmart. Got hte last one. On the back of the package, after Digital Features option, next option says

"12 months of wireless service and 10 minutes prepaid wireless airtime included with activation."

This does have 12 months airtime. But, this is not eligible for 200 minutes extra time with the coupon code posted. I bought one at Sams club for $59.99, and in another thread someone posted that the 200 minutes does't applies to this.

Also, while at Wally, pickup the Motorola starter kit for $12.87. It includes leather case, car charger and hands free earbud.

so, does this mean that you pay $40 or so and get 1 year and only 10 minutes of airtime ?

Another question is if I have an unactivated phone, can I buy cards and activate it ? I am looking for a phone just for emergency purpose, so number of minutes does not matter, however, length of activation period should be long.

thanks

<< so, does this mean that you pay $40 or so and get 1 year and only 10 minutes of airtime ?

But with referal, you get 100 more minutes. 400 minutes cost 74.99 at wally. 200 minutes card for 48.

WalMart had this phone in two different packages. The blue package had a line on the back that stated "12 months of service and 10 minutes of time". The red one stated "10 minutes of time". Needless to say, I grabbed the blue one.

Anyone know if the red one is also active for 12 months?

Yes I belive so. Last year I bought a refurb direct from tracfone because it was free with a minute purchase. The first 10 minutes were good for a year then the 10 for email registration and 60 minutes for a referral gave me 80 minutes for the year. Was kind of a YMMV back then.

just back from my supercenter and the only V120's they had were marked down as OP stated but they only came with 10mins. I don't ever remember seeing a New Retail Tracfone that had minutes with it already unless it was a refurb unit. Where on the package are people seeing this year thing????

I just got back from my second trip and no go. Two different color packages, both with only 10 minutes. I even had the clerk doublecheck to make sure. Definitely a YMMV.

I am looking for a cheap prepaid phone also. Can someone confirm this has 1 year card ??

is the refer a friend promotion still running?

How do you combine it with free minutes? Does the bonus code have to be done online, or in store only?

Thanks,
Frob

Yup the refer-a-friend is still running. Secondly the v120 is not the best phone to get. If it comes with 1yr of service for that amount then its a good deal but otherwise no. Check around online for reviews and you'll see what I mean. I had one of these phones and after a month I got rid of it cause I couldn't stand the quality of it. Not threadcrapping cause the op's deal IS a good deal.

FYI Regular airtime card can have 120 days Max on the phone. The 1 Years card can have 730 days Max on the phone. 20 Minutes for online registration and 2 months(60 days). 100 Minutes and 2 months (60 days)for a referal. The trick is to do the transactions seperately. 1st do the online reg. of the phone, the go back later, you know, wait 5 minutes, and get your referal minutes using the code sent to you in a email. DO NOT TRY TO DO THIS ALL AT ONE TIME. Wait until your under 60 days to add another card or referal minutes.

You are right. Only 10 minutes. 10 more for e-mail registration and 100 more for referal.

Could someone who bought the correct phone -- the one with one year -- please post the exact SKU. I'd like to buy a couple for the local women's shelter. The only one I see is in a blue package with a "save $200 on airtime" sticker on the front.
Model # TFV120TC2. UPC code: 616960029014. Doesn't say anything about the one year.

I don't have the receipt in front of me, so I don't have the UPC, but I bet all the blue packages come with a year. It's hidden on the package.

On the back, under the "Digital features included", the second bullet reads:
"12 months of wireless service and 10 minutes prepaired wireless airtime included with activation."
This contradicts the "How to get started" section, also on the back of the package.

Can someone tell me what the best current overall deal is to have phone activation for a year. I need to buy one for in-laws, but they'll only need it for emergencies. Is just buying a year activation card the best way to go? Can the extra minutes they won't use be transferred to my son's tracfone? Thanks!

the Nokia 1100 phone may be cheap, but the deal online right now is great if you actually want min. too. With getting just the phone by the time you add on a one year card and get if you have the proper promo codes the best you are going to do is 370 min./one year serv. for about $135

Shipping is free, as this is a new, not refurbished phone. The online deal gives you 620 min. with one year of service, and double min. on any more min. you may add on during the year. This deal is only $149.99.

Nokia 1100 deal

so for about $15.00 you get an additional 250 min. and double min. on any you may add on during the year.

Does anyone know if Tracfone will let you transfer minutes from an old phone to a new one? I have an old Nokia with 200 minutes. I want a v120, but I don't want to loss the minutes.

Yes they'll let you. Best way to do that is to refer yourself. This way your current phone and the new one will get 100 free mins. After you successfully add those minutes to each phone (plus remember you will get 20min more for activation of the new one) THEN call them up and tell them you want to transfer all your stuff from one phone to another. Tell them you have 2 activated phones with minutes and want to combine it all onto 1 (or something of that sort). During that process they will deactivate your old phone (taking the minutes from it first). They have to do that, they won't leave a few minutes on it to keep it active. Then they'll add all that to your new one (adding it to whats already on there). After its all done you will have all your info on the new phone as well as 220 extra minutes (100 for each phone for the referral, and 20 for activation). I do this when I buy new phones (ie refer myself).

I activated The tracfone I purchased (the one in the blue package). According to the website (and the phone display), I'm good for a year and have 20 units.

ok we need someone to scan the packaging for the 1 year phone. I was just down there and didn't see it, it only said 10 minutes on the back.

Here's a closeup of the box info from the blue Tracfone I just bought; notice that it doesn't say anything about the 12 months.

And here's a full scan of the back package.

Anyone that has the correct package, please let us know if yours is the same or different. I'd like to return this one if it's not the right one. Thanks.

Mine is different blue box.

It has "12 months of wireless service and " before 10 minutes.

I don't use cell phone very often. GSM coverage is weak in my home area. So I have to pass all those fancy GSM phones and go with AT&T Free2Go plan (TDMA).

Here is what I did:

1)I bought a NOKIA 2260 for $15 AR from HSN.com. It comes with 40 minutes.

2)I also bought a $100 AT&T Free2Go prepaid card for $75 on eBay. That comes with 666 minutes for one year.

3)By activating the $100 prepaid card, I receive 20 bonus minutes each month for 12 months.

Bottomline is $90 for a Nokia phone and 946 minutes (40+666+240) for one year.

Thanks, dsmking. I'll return this phone tomorrow.

Tracfone's text messaging is a vaporware! Anyone can say otherwise?

V120 is a TDMA.

OK Lots of questions and confusion here.

The V120 does come with a year. Read the packages carefully. The 1100 does not. You only get 2 months when you first activate that one.

The V120 does not contain an actual card in the package. You get the year (without any minutes) when activating. You could get a current user (question about free minutes) to send you an email BEFORE you activate the new phone that will get you 100 free minutes. Those can be used now or later in the year.

So for emergencies use (Colombo), you'd have 1 year and 110 minutes on the phone for $36ish.

KMart also has 1100 on sale with free car kit this week..also under $40.

Question for tracfone experts: I've had (wifey's phone) the nokia 5180i for two years with tracfone and I've been around here long enough to know the ins and outs of these deals ( ... and I remember the old days of referral begging). I'm undecided between two possible options. I need to upgrade to a new phone but have lots of mins on my current phone (over 600) so I will refer myself and transfer the minutes from the old phone to my new one. I want to get a new phone with one year activation, and take advantage of the 200 bonus mins (good till 1/15/05 it appears). So here is my question.

Should I go for the refurb nokia 1221 with 1 year for $95 (+ shipping) or the 1100 double min plan for $150 (free shipping). The additional mins and potential double mins with the 1100 would be more attractive if I did not already have so many mins to begin with - in reality I will not likely need to buy more this year. I would love to hear if anyone has an opinion about the difference between these phones. Is the gsm 1100 worth an extra $50? What do you all think. Thanks.

just found this website to get one-year card for $89.99 - a five dollar discount
