Has Frys been this bad lately or is it just because it is tax season? I'm really wondering what happened to the single rebate or the easy (photocopied disc) competitives.
I just filled out this rebate and I'm beginning to get concerned over their wording in the MIR. It says "Limit one rebate per qualifying purchase per unique product. " That last part about being unique product makes me worry that they will not honor this for me as I bought the same one back in dec 2011 and it has the same upc code on it. Oh what to do what to do. Should I just return the Frys.com order to frys (if that's even possible) or should I just ship it back to them, OR just give this a shot. I already did the Kaspersky Pure from Newegg twice so why not take another gamble on the KIS.

anyone purchased Webroot essentials around early dec (rebate form offer #11-72867) (i purchase mine on dec 3)..
my rebate was denied because the Webroot had to be purchased with a tax software.. but the original rebate form that i saved when i made the purchase did not specify such a purchase...
now the rebate form that is currently at frys says that a tax software must be purchased..WTF?

A similar problem occured like that with IMSI CLIPART. My office web browser showed no tax requirement while my home web browser showed the requirement. Go to page 81 of this thread to read about the problem. What shows up when you input the rebate here?

And Frys being Frys, when I tried to order that, Bitdefender and Nitro PDF at the same time, it forced me to Ultra Saver and then wanted to charge me some ridiculous amount for shipping. I removed Nitro PDF and was able to get Budget/Media Mail for free and figured when I ordered Nitro separately I'd get Ultra Saver. WRONG. It was Budget as well. So maybe because I went over some $ amount it would not do untrackable Media Mail? Maybe Frys is not as stupid as we think on that front?

Yep, exactly what I did.
I'm on the phone right now with Parago about 11-72867. They are looking into it. CSR did see my copy of the form, and did acknowledge that the form did not mention tax software.

You're kidding right? Most of these complaints are from people who didn't read the terms and conditions. Parago is a large company, and may let a few slip though occasionally, but in general, my experience with them is pleasant. I've had relatively very few invalidations...and the CSR always corrects it once they verify my paperwork. Billrubin is correct, this is fry's fault.

They usually close a promotion after 6 months. What was the reason it is invalidated...and how come you waited for over 6 months to look into this?
I sent it in July a week before the last mailing date. I contacted them back in Dec 1. I wasn't even sent a postcard about the invalid rebate status. They said they didn't get the UPC so it was invalid but i sent it in. I sent in the copy of the UPC along with a chat session printed with their supervisor saying that the copy of the UPC is okay since the box didn't have a proof of purchase.

Unfortunately if the promotion closed, there's not much you can do. The CSR won't be able to override it in their systems. You're only other option is to call OD about it.
Got a denial today from Kaspersky for the 4th Quarter Pure 2011 Upgrade $35.00 rebate (Promo Number 040559).

Nero uses the same rebate provider, status-now, as kaspersky, so there may have been a mixup. Nero competitive rebate requires previous nero version or competitive product manual or CD, so they may have mixed yours up with that one. Should be an easy one to clear up.

There is no cover that I can see since the CD itself is in a CD sleeve inside the box (for competitive products). Do Sony rebates become available for online pre-submissions? We’re sorry we are unable to locate the rebate offer you searched for. Please check your information and try again. I sent a copy from Videostudio X2 for a recent Vegas upgrade (I actually had to peel back and remove a layer from the thick paper to keep it under one ounce when mailing!).
And I've given up on waiting for rebates to show up at rebateshq for presubmission. I admit it is nice to presubmit and not have typos (I thought I was missing a Nitro PDF rebate from August since it never showed up online, only to find out that they entered my last name incorrectly).
Many of the AVG & Trend Micro products from Fry's are using continuing upgrade rebates that have been going on since last year. Be careful that you haven't already done these offer numbers. And don't go by the rebate dates on the product page, they are sometimes wrong. You have to open the PDF rebate form to see when the rebate actually started.
Anyone do the $100 rebate for Trend Micro maximum premium Security? $40 is an upgrade rebate and that's fine, it says you have to have any previous stand alone, Norton, Macafee, etc. OK, but it says to send CD 1 or the first page of the manual, it says nothing about a copy of these things, the way it's written, it says to send the actual item. Anyone do this with a copy, I don't want to give up my copy of Norton anti virus.

Thanks, I'll try the photocopy and if they shoot it down, I'll make a clear photocopy and send the original. Although it's kind of BS that they want your actual software, I'd rather send the actual cover of the manual than lose the disk.
