In one of my fitness magazines there is a coupon code (NBFIT)for $50 off the New Balance 5.5 Elliptical Trainer. This new model is now their cheapest at $599.99 before coupon with free shipping good at the newbalancefitness.com site. (Their other models range from $699 up to $1199.) The code is only good on the 5.5 elliptical model. Prices elsewhere I have found are $599 without any discount so this code can save you some money. I don't know much about these as I use a stationary bike at home and have never tried the elliptical trainers but if you are looking for a name brand that isn't going to take up your whole living room then maybe this would be of interest. Here's some info on the 5.5 from the Newbalance site:

The 5.5e Elliptical Trainer by New Balance Fitness® combines ComForm™ ergonomic design with club quality engineering for the ultimate in affordable, high quality elliptical trainers. ComForm™ Technology is our solution to workout comfort and optimal performance. We have carefully engineered our elliptical trainers to fit and support you from your feet to your fingertips. Every aspect of the 5.5e Elliptical Trainer creates an extraordinary sense of comfort and workout efficiency because we know that exercise equipment that is comfortable to use and engineered to perform makes your workout more enjoyable.

With the 5.5e Elliptical Trainer you'll also be receiving: 8 levels of magnetic resistance for workout variety; forward and reverse motion to work different muscle groups with the same exercise; linked upper body arms give you a total body workout; water bottle with easy access holder; transportation wheels for easy maneuverability; focus bar for stability and rest during a workout.

I couldn't get the $50 off to work on the newbalancefitness.com site but it DID work at http://www.fitnessquest.com

Thanks for bringing that coupon to my attention!

I was wondering if anyone has this elliptical and could give a quick review? I can't seem to find any reviews for this model. Thanks!

..........bump

I am thinking about buying a Nordictrack elliptical today, but I want to hear from anyone regarding the New Balance? The stride length is really short on the New Balance (15 inches) compared to the usual 18.
