No idea but I did had a cheaper but same brand GPS, failed like this, then I called and replaced with a new one. works perfect, then I leave it in my car for about 4 month, try again, dead (out of warranty period). Perhaps you should not leave it in the car for expended period of time (but that's where it is used for, silly), you should treat it like your wallet or kid, never leave it in the window uped car.
I'm just curious, where in the car did you leave it, I used to take it in and out of my car but I just leave it in my glove compartment with the leather case, maybe it was the direct sunlight exposure cuasing the problem? If you have kept it in the glove compartment, then maybe it's time for me to take the thing out of the car. I have noticed that sometimes it just shuts off on me in the middle of the ride but when i press any button it goes back on.
I still haven't figured out how to use an alternate route, like if i was on the highway and there is a lot of traffic i don't know how to get it to tell me to take the alternate route(local streets). can anyone help? |

I kept mine in the glove box. I guess that is a bad thing, because after two weeks of unuse and hot weather, it stopped working off the battery. Would not even charge the battery. Called up Navman. They said they would probably just replace the unit, as repairs are not done in the US. This is cool, so long as it is a new unit and not refurbished. Mine is in pristine shape, just that the battery doesn't work. |

I called the number at the navman website. This was about two weeks ago. Been kind of busy since then. I bought the unit at Fry's, but the CSR said that no receipt was necessary, as the product has a 1 year warranty and it hasn't been for sale that long. My unit has an October of 2004 manufacturing date. |
