Epinions Price Scan Lowest price I've found was around $400. At $299 I'm

I was just about to post this deal too. ITs about $100 more everyplace else, eBay they go for about $400 to $450 with shipping

Same here. Actually the delay was in trying to see if Staples still carried this model for a price match to make the deal better.

here's one review from cnet

Pros: 1. Small powerful unit 2. Cover provided 3. Great screen and voice cmds 4. Did not need to read manual at all!

Cons: 1. maps not pre-loaded 2. No SD Card supplied 3. 512 SD is the max capacity unit can take 4. Maps take a while to load

I got one for my dad for Christmas (when it was $350) and bought him a 512MB SD card to go along with it. It works great and the maps only have to load initially at startup (takes maybe 20 seconds to boot up with about 20 states loaded for him).

At $299, I bought another two (different addresses). One for me, one for fleabay.

Got this unit for 349.99 + s/h about 2 wks ago. It doesn't come with SD card. No built-in maps on unit. It loses GPS signal from time to time. Maps on CD and upgrade software are quite outdated and wrong, esp. for my street. Trying to find it for more than 30 minutes until I discovered that the "s" on my street's name was separated that it becomes "S" (South). It found my street when I seprated the "s" but voice prompt is way off, and kept on telling me to turn right when it was still about 0.2 miles from by home. I was told by CSR that updated maps will be in 8-9 months in 2005 and costs $185 ($99 upgrade). Sent it back after about 5 days of testing. I think $299 is a great price for this device but for 349 Navman should at least upgrade their software and maps.

Just bought one at Fry's on Xmas eve for $350... Outpost now shows price of $329.99? Will Fry's do price adjustment?

I got it before xmas too for $350 and I called them and they don't do price adjustment. They also said it's the responsibility of the customer to send back and pay for the shipping if you want to return it (I was thinking of returning the one I got and ordering a new one at the lower price). Pretty crappy customer service if you ask me.

In addition, you can't return it to the store (Fry's).

Is it possible to mount this unit in-dash? I'm not a huge fan of suction-cupping things to my windshield.
