GuitarCenter has the Takamine EG-230 Acoustic/Electric guitar for $199, the list price on these is $500. I picked one up and it's a solid acoustic dreadnought. Lowest price I've seen on a combination acoustic/electric, deal made all the better by the fact that it's a Takamine.

may be discontinued model.
Certainly not a retail of $500 on the GC230 more like $350 and that's "musical instrument retail" (total BS mark-up). A good street price is 60%-70% of "retail" with most guitars.
I say just figure you're getting a $100 off. Regardless of the existance of high end guitars, i'm sure that the quality is well wroth the $200 price tag, you wont be dissapointed.

Zzounds has the Takamine EG240 for $260 shipped.
One left in the Red Stain. More due in in 2 weeks. Only taxed in NJ.
I purchased quite a bit of equipment from Zzounds and no problems. Albeit I never had to return anything so I don't know what CS is like either.

I looked thru the most recent add on Guitar Center's site and it was not there (or I missed it). I did find a post on Slickdeals (using google) that has a pic and a scan of an EARLIER GUITAR CENTER AD (so they have been at $199 before and maybe again?):
The post on Slickdeals also said that they were discontinued, so I am guessing that the OP may have gotten a local deal?
Anybody have any experience with this guitar vs. the Rogue Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar? I am leaning to the Rogue, but I am new to guitars <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border=0>

GuitarCenter sometimes has great instore sales. I bought a StratPack (the one with the Fender Amp) at the store in Manhattan for $99 in November. Timing is everything.

Sorry for the late response. This was a deal that was originally advertised in their monthly circular and the price hasn't changed since. I'm guessing it might be getting discountinued, but I picked it up as a B&M deal.
