This is better then a Optura XI (way too big)
My buddy has one.
My Optura 40 shoots equal to or better.
The 30 would be the same.

Same here. I have the Optura 3000 and love it. All the reviews said Canon DV camcorders have a background noise and I hesitated before ordering it. So far no problem. Not sure what they were talkin about. May be the DV camcorder reviewers are as picky as the movie critics?

Background noise is the least of your concerns, when they start eating tapes, that's when you know you CAN go wrong.
