I've been pricing these for two months. Best prices I've seen.

Sams Club B&M has a two pack of 95 watt power inverters for $18.87. Plugs into cig lighter.

Also, 500 watt power inverter for $28.87- plugs into cig lighter or direct to battery. Dual plugs

Both made by Vector.

.

Can someone simply explain what these are used for please?

Are they used to play a 120 volt TV in a car, or a 12 volt
appliance out of a 110 volt recepticle for instance?

Thank You

These are for running 120V devices in your car.

I want to buy a TV and play it in my car. Everything
being equal more or less, should I buy a dedicated car
TV, or buy a regular TV and a inverter?

Is there any advantages or disadvantages to buying
either TV?

Thank You = Cajun

Well kinda over priced as Kragen has a 90 & 200 watt inverter for $14.88 for the pair.

What size of inverter do I need to be able to play my 53" projector TV and FTA receiver? I have serveral good car batteries laying around. All I want is about 1-3hrs playing time.

400 watt is the one I got from Pep Boys. Had $5 rebate that expires end of month.

It really depends on what other uses you might need out of either of the two. With an inverter you can use it to power any other ac appliance (up to the rated voltage output of the inverter). A small standard TV that runs on ac or dc is going to cost more to purchase than one that only operates on ac. The power usage (battery draw) between a tv that has ac/dc operation and an ac only powered tv using an inverter is very close to being equal.
I draw from much reasearch I conducted when I refurbed a motorhome that I wanted to last as many hours/days self contained as possible with minimal fuel use.

Just check their power requirements (should be listed on the product) & get an inverter that matches that.
