Ladies 3/4ct round solitaire engagement ring is the perfect surprise to mark the beginning of a lifetime of happiness. The diamond is set in a 14kt yellow gold Solitaire mounting with white gold prongs. Remember... diamonds are a ladies best friend.Stock size 7.
You're not ever supposed to buy a diamond without inspecting it first. Since I don't see any type of GIA, IGA, etc... certification, who knows what cut, clarity, and color this diamond is. In addition, NEVER buy a diamond that is already mounted. A jeweler is unable to get a good reading on its true value.
$3,999, yeah right.
However, it might be a good deal for a cheap diamond ring.

Does anyone have a free shipping code... Free shipping would make this smokin..
If this ring is actually 399 then it's great! but i bet the orders would be cancelled. Wish I had money left over from these Dell deals. But great find OP!

This deal reminds me of the movie "Beautiful Girls," where michael rapaport was trying to convince all his friends that Champagne Diamonds were not about being cheap, but about a new trend in jewelry. I am not sure, but I think Champagne diamonds is a nice way of saying they are crap.

Arrgghhhh this diamond is disgusting. Please fellas if you are going to buy a diamond for your girl make sure it is G color or better.....and 14k gold??? This thing is worth $125 tops but please don't do the dis-service of giving it to any woman! Listen I am a bloke but even I know chicks love to show off new diamonds to all their friends but she will be ridiculed wearing this garbage. And don't even think about popping the question with this unless you are protecting your groin area first.

I don't think this is a price mistake, it's only 3/4 ct.
I got a 1ct for $3xx only.

I don't think this is a price mistake. The retail price is seriously inflated, and the quality is bound to be poor. A great ring to get started, but plan on replacing it for something with a little more quality when you can afford it.

Note that this is not a regular, "white" diamond...
Champagne Diamonds Champagne diamonds are naturally coloured diamonds that are produced in a wide range of colours from light straw to rich cognac.
The 4C's of colour, cut, clarity and carat weight apply to coloured diamonds just as they do to colourless diamonds except the intensity of colour, not lack of it, plays a greater part in the valuation.
Argyle Diamonds created the following scale specifically for champagne diamonds. The diamonds are graded on a C1-C7 colour scale. C1 and C2 represent light champagne, C3 and C4 medium champagne, and C5 and C6 dark champagne. The fancy cognac diamond is graded C7.

Do you get to keep the hand of the slave laborer who toiled in Sierra Leone mines to get it? http://www.historyhouse.com/uts/debeers/
Look into moissanite instead or the new manmade diamonds (made in Florida, I believe). Much cheaper for all us fatwalleters and (for the actual manmade diamonds) indistinguishable from "real" diamonds.

Remember - they ar now making artificial diamonds, which do not mactch the color of real diamonds- but are a lot cheaper. http://simon.incutio.com/archive/2003/08/13/artificialDiamonds
I feel sorry for the loser who actually paid $4999 for that thing. Another thing, if you shop for a diamond ring online, then I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.

Great info. I was about to do the same. When I bought my wife's engagement ring we were not aware of the "blood diamonds," or how Debeers' marketing created the tradition of diamond engagement rings. It's a pretty contemptible business, and if I had it to do over again (wife agrees), I wouldn't buy her a natural diamond -- maybe a different stone or one of the new man-made diamonds.

3/4 ct. Champagne Color Diamond Solitaire (OTL) If my man gave me a diamond that wasn't white for engagement, I'd cry. Probably like a L-N color. Not worth it!

A champagne colored diamond is not woth much. You want your diamond to be colorless. When diamonds start to yellow - they lose value VERY quickly. However, if they are a true yellow - then their value goes up.
This is no deal. You can see in the photo that it is a urine colored diamond
Ok its one thing to to argue about "good" expensive diamonds vs cheap inexpensive diamonds.
But lets face it, its pure dumbness to pay thousands for a ROCK (even if it is really the good type diamond). I wouldnt want a girl who just 'feels' happy by wearing a $5000 - $10,000 rock; or her respect and attitude is somehow measured by how much I spend on a rock for her. I would rather use that as a down payment for a house.
People used to buy diamonds and Gold becuase that was the only way to preserve currency (they didnt have paper bills). Although paper currency can also be generated (like diamonds) hence depreciation or inflation...therefore, It is stil a good idea to buy gold becaues gold is limited in the world and no one can make gold in a laboratory (it has to be made in star supernova). I read that the whole earths gold can be gathered up and it would be the size of a football stadium.
Anyway, buy her something ok ($1000 or less) and if she is not happy. then find someone who will be happy. There is plenty of fish in the sea and some are smart enough to know there is better things to spend your hard earned money than on Rocks!

i wouldnt jump on this. there's no clarity classification or any deal about the diamond itself. it's all about the cut and clarity. beware guys.

Agree, I'd rather a girl that prefers spending thousands of dollars in computer hardware...
I feel beyond my own time...

I think H or better is suitable, but everyone will have a different opinion. At I or J, I could see the color easily... which was rather sad as I turned down a 1.2ct J diamond for a .92ct H diamond.
Cut will help significantly, but when you look at photographs all day you can see that color.

I have had no luck finding the newer manmade diamonds. I am not a fan of exploiting slave labor, even though I do occasionally shop at WalMart. This vendor does offer a 100% money back satisfaction guarantee. That's a bit nicer than you'll do on fleaBay
My ex-wife recieved a sapphire engagment ring, it was quite nice. If I ever get stupid enough to get married again, I would consider Moissanite before I would send money into the DeBeers coffers. You might as well buy from Hitler, I'm not sure if Hitler or DeBeers is responsible for more misery. Probably Hitler... The DeBeers marketing hype isn't hitting home with me.
Read some of these diamond info webpages. They say things like "You must be an expert to be able to detect the quality of a diamond." If that's true, why should we non-experts care? Oh well, this is all personal taste. I'll choose for myself...
Lots of good food for thought in this thread. Opened my eyes to things I did not know. So now I will add my own. Consider this: 50% of first time marriages end in divorce. For second marriages it is closer to 70%. When I got married I would have been willing to spend far more than I did. I couldn't because I was working oversea's and wasn't willing to risk my lack of knowledge buying on the local market. So I bought what was available from AAFES for $700 figuring I would buy something better when I got back to the states. Well I never got around to buying that bigger stone thank god and eight years later we were divorced. Money well saved.
