At the Grand Opening for the Costco in Fremont, CA, they were selling Seven jeans for $84.99. I asked one of the workers when they're going to stop selling them and if they were being sold at all Costcos and she said that they'll probably sell them for at least another 2 weeks and only certain Costcos are selling them. They had bootcut and flared styles. I think they retail for about $150. Big crowds were around them and they seemed to be selling fast.

When was the grand opening? Anything else special for the grand opening in Fremont?

never heard of them...
BUT why are these jeans soo expensive... ??

what?! costco is selling sevens?! that is sooo cool! Thanks OP! This is a nice deal.

Macy's had em for $90 a few weeks back during 10% off sale.. Costco had odd sizes and very smelly fitting rooms (otherwise known as bathrooms next to $1.50 polish sausage crowd)

It was today, nothing special, just a lot of samples.

LOL, Costco is selling 7 jeans now... btw these are like $140+ jeans. Wow I'm gonna have to let my metrosexual buddy know.

Wranglers at WalMart for $13.

the price is 80% in the name and 20% in quality... not bad jeans.. but its the name that makes it expensive

Once costco sells it i dont think they are that cool anymore. I mean if im going to pay that much for jeans I would prefer they don't sell them at costco.

Some very successful marketing campaigns convinced some people, mostly teenage girls, that the status of certain brands of denim jeans is worth hundreds of dollars.

remember those expensive Guess? Jeans in the 80s?

Even Guess jeans back in the day ran about $50. The manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank cuz they got the public spending this kinda coin on denim. I do spend a lot more than this for a lot of my clothes but I'd never spend this much for JEANS. It's denim folks, there's nothing high end about it...

While I dont intend to buy some for myself, and being a part of the younger generation, I have to share with you guys that people get them because: 1)They DO fit like $150 jeans 2)Everyone that's everyone has got a pair.

Usually starts with 2 and morphs into 1 as they find out their greatness.

ugh, these are worth it

IMO they're probably fake. Lots of discount retailers have been suckered into fakes from various wholesellers. Burlingame Coat Factory, Century 21, even Macys in NYC have all been victims.

LOL, I rest my case.

And "Nothing comes between me and my Calvins"

I am willing to buy fakes for $20 or $30. In fact I encourage all FW members to purchase only fakes. Then everyone should proclaim to the world that the fakes are actually real, original, authentic Sevens.

And guess what? 99.9999999% of the people will BELIEVE YOU!!

Yes, it is true, folks. People can be EASILY FOOLED by brand name logos on fake/counterfeit jeans. Why spend $85 for the real thing when you can spend only $20 for something that everyone think is the real thing? Isn't that the whole point of buying expensive jeans (i.e. to impress people)?

what a waste of money. Lucky U jeans are nice though.. but way too expensive.

Anyone know where I can buy stitch-on logos for Seven and Lucky-U? I would like to purchase them for $1-$2 each and stitch them on my Costco Kirkland Signature jeans which go for around $12.

That way, I can fool people into thinking I spent $1000 on 10 pairs of Seven and Lucky-U jeans.

lol is this for real? i guess that means 7 jeans are out. what's next, diesels?

Well, they've already been selling certain lower-end pairs of diesels off and on for the past 6 months-year

heh this destroys the value of these jeans. bad for the makers. good for the masses.

i know someone in my school that is friends or teammates with the owner's son. i hear he's filthy rich.

Actually, if you have ever compared a pair of expensive designer jeans like this to a pair of $30 levis you will see the difference. There is a big difference in the quality of materials, the quality of the stitching, the buttons and finish work, and the overall look of the jeans.

Does is justify a 4-5 times price premium? Not unless you count in the status factor of the brand name. But there is a big difference in the quality of a piece of clothing that expensive vs. your cheap everyday stuff.

I will completely agree with you on this one. I used to scoff at these "designer" jeans, thinking it was a scam. I thought jeans were just jeans. Then a few months ago I decided just to try on a pair to see what all the hype was about. You can completely tell where your extra money is going. Yes, you are getting over charged, and yes the premium is ridiculous. But, it's nice, and you'll realize levi's and all those more affordable brands fit like potato sacks compared to these jeans. It's like comparing a Honda to a BMW. Yea sure they're both cars, but one is wayyy more nicer than the other. Its the difference between utility and luxury.

I've never bought any of these, or Lucky Brand, or any of the other riduculously priced Denim trousers. And granted, they could be made better than Wrangler or Rustler jeans. But are they made any better than a good pair or Levi's that will cost you 30 bucks or less on sale?

The parents who buy these for their little darlings are the ones who should be slapped.

i would buy diesel with the same price. Thankz anyway!

You can get them in Annie Sez for about $60-$70

Are these the new hot jaens?

Hey I can save you I buy Lee jeans for $14.98 then spend the rest of my money that I save from supporting some dumb a** designer on beer

argh i spent $135 and $118 on 2 pairs of jeans a couple months ago (Nordstrom) now COSTCO is selling these? WTF MANG I WANT MY MONEY BACK

No matter what you do, they are still jeans. Stuff you wear to work and to change the oil on your car.

High end denim is like high end burlap, it's just a figment of the public's imagination.

7 jeans are hot, that's why people buy them! They look 100 times cuter other jeans. They fit just right, and they are WAYYYYY worth the money.. You can't even compare them with other jeans.

Why is there so much hate out there? People spend money on the things they want to spend the money on. Some people think computers are worth their money, some people think clothes, some people think cars. It's just a matter of what's important to you.

Don't hate!

That's ridiculous. 7 jeans are not made in China, they're made in Los Angeles, and they go through a very rigorous process, and the material they use is of a higher quality. Just because you can't tell the difference, don't assume other people can't. I can tell the difference! It's not just about the logo or the brand. Some people can't tell the difference between $1 wine and $1000 wine, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. It just means that you can't tell the difference.

The advantage of some of the higher priced designers is they tend to be at the front of the fashion trends. If you don't care about the rise, length, leg cut, etc of your jeans thats fine. However, if you are concerned with that your options are more limited when a new trend first starts.

Fashion trends are for those people who are more interested in what others wear, instead of what that person wants. I guess if someone wants to be a sheep and just follow others, instead of being an individual.

People just should be themselves and wear what they like, and not care what others wear.

As for the other who implies if they dont like these jeans, then they must wear Wranglers, thats one of the silliest things I have ever read on here. Last I heard, there was more of a variety than Wrangers and 77 for all alienkind or whatever that goofy name is.

For the people complaining about the $85 price for these jeans, what kind do you buy and how much do you pay? I usually get Levi's Silver Tab, DKNY, or Arizona jeans and pay between $25-$50. There is a big difference in how jeans look and fit so if I liked 7 jeans better than the ones I have, then I wouldn't have a problem spending $85. It really isn't a lot of money compared to what people pay for shirts. I'm sure many of you have a couple $40 shirts in your closet that you hardly ever wear so in comparison $85 for a pair of jeans that you can wear several times a week isn't a bad deal.
