At least in Nevada and Chesapeake Va already start this 50% off.
Some sams might not start yet, but worth keeping an eye on it.

I posted this message before but got neg rate and a nasty reply. Just want to give out this information again to someone who is looking for a mattress set.

Hope atlanta will have this sale soon.

Edit:
Forgot to say 50% off sale is due to the sam's club is clearancing this line out.

And thanks for the Positive rate.

thx for the heads up

Thanks OP. Anyone in Nevada or Chesapeake have any idea what the what kind of pricing we are looking at for a Queen or a King mattress?

TIA

Anyone in Monroe, LA seeing any discounts?

Anybody know how this compares to a Sealy Posturepedic?

How would one know if a sign is not up ?

That is, they may be marked down but not have a sign saying so.

Can anyone tell is this 50% off applicable to bay area(CA)???

Sold mattresses and furniture for a few years awhile back.
Serta Perfect Sleeper is (was) Serta's premeire line.
Sealy's is the Posturepedic but they bought another well known brand about a decade ago and that line is better...
Within the flagship brand(s) there is a wide range of quality in coil count, size, and padding.
Rules to live by:
1. The bigger you are the more mattress you need.
2. Lifetime warranties only as good as the retailer/manufacturer=Sam's/Costco a VERY good place to purchase.
3. Warranties are usually void if mattress "soiled"-buy a nice pad.
4. Spend more than you think you should-you won't regret it.
4. Box Spring (with actual springs) better than foundation (usually just a wood platform covered by small piece of foam).

1a. Do you mean more padding or more surface area?- (like from a Full to a Queen size mattress)
2a. Makes sense
3a. Good idea, regardless
4a. Hard to know where to stop
5a. Why is a box spring better than, say, a platform bed?

1b. If you are big or fat, you need more coils/heavier gauge steel, padding etc for it to last.
2b.
3b.
4b. My rule of thumb-2x your house payment. If house free and clear-$900 full, $1400 q, $2000 k. Add @50% if two people sleep on it. If you buy expensive stuff, spend $3000 and up (king size).
5b. Platforms give false impression of firmness and cause mattress to wear out @twice as fast vs. coil box spring (maybe steel slats-as long as they have coils in combination should be ok).
All these prices are retail--your deal will vary.
Some people claim all beds are the same, just like steaks at Bonanza are the same as Ruths Chris. Lol.
And my favorite bed was a tempurpedic-like foam mattress.

a actual tmeper pedic or what brand??

A friend had a mattress factory in Escondido, Ca....forgot the name but I loved my foam bed. Not a real tempurpedic, just generic memory foam. I never talked to anyone that had a foam bed that didn't love it.
Buy it from one of those places that gives a "30 day sleep trial" and return if not happy.

I have a genuine tempur-pedic mattress. I would never ever purchase another brand. I absolutely love it. Helps with my arthritis.

I've tested the Tempurpedic, it's fantastic, but for now, I'll settle for a Sealy Posturepedic or the Stern & Foster Rose collection, checked out & tested a few @ Mattress Firm and compared prices @ their outlet location. Very impressed with the quality and comfort. I think I should invest in the Tempurpedic but I think I may have to wait a lil bit (years later . I'll go get the Tempurpedic pillow

I've decided I hate my tempurpedic. I'm about 215 lbs, and the mattress quickly got soft and provided insufficient support. (The warranty covers permanent indentations, but not softness). I've been living with it, but I've decided to write it off as an expensive mistake. I'm getting something firmer. It may work better for lighter people.

As far as foundations/springs are concerned, I was shopping for mattresses today, and what comes with Beautyrest are only foundations--all metal, no springs. The salesman said that the new, non-turn mattresses needed that kind of stability. The preference for springs may date back to the mattresses that needed to be flipped. (I don't know which kind the Sams Club ones are.)

thanks, OP
needed a new mattress

Anyone know if this is a deal in the El Paso area. My membership expired a few days ago, but my wife wants a new mattress.

I am planning to buy one serta mattress, Does anyone know whether this 50% off applies here in New Jearsy at their Pansaukin store?

How much for a queen size matress after discount? Could you please also give the link? THX

Thanks. Is this 50% off their normal price or 50% off MSRP? Huge difference.

Anyone in houston or Austin CHeck this yet? I would like to have some confirmation before going to the store.

Can anyone confirm in florida?

How much for a queen size matress after 50% discount?
When I saw on Thursday, the firm Serta queen mattress is at $399 and the plush is at $418. This is in North Central Florida Sams club. I was wondering whether this price is after 50% discount??

Thanks in advance

Those prices are their original prices.

Confirmed in 77841, TX area. Too bad King and Queen sizes were already gone. Sams' guy told me they flew off the windows when they started this 50% off yesterday. Still have Full size firm for $189.xx (boxspring and mattress sold in pairs). Twin is $46.xx for the mattress only. One Twin boxspring is like $36.xx while the other boxspring is $51.xx. This is great buy but I only wanted queen or king size. Oh well, there is always another time.

Good luck.

at 215lbs, i hardly consider this heavy. did this mattress started out firm and gotten softer over time or was it always soft?

does any know if there are any differences in the tempurpedic brand mattress and another brand memory foam mattress (in oklahoma, we have a local company by the name of Lady Americana, they've just advertised their own "temperpedic" type mattress)? also, has anyone tried the 2 or 3 inch memory foam mattress topper that you often see on overstock.com? if yes, how was it?

thanks.

I can confirm that they are NOT on sale in Tallahassee.

Does Sam's have any sort of mattress delivery service?

Confirmed in Sterling VA, but NOT in Gaithersburg or Frederick MD as of today, Saturday, April 9.

Having moved several times in the past few years, I've gone through a few different mattresses as well as tried a few of my roommate's. I've also owned 2 Sealy Posturepedics and paid about $1000 for a queen so it was a decent mattress.

That being said, my roommate owned a Simmons Beautyrest that I was able to try out. This bed offers an amazing night's sleep and the best thing of all---you can move around all you want and whomever is on the bed with you can't feel a thing. Now that I'm married, we spent the extra to invest in a king size Simmons Beautyrest that matched our weights and preferences to not feel each other when one tosses and turns. We spent about $1400 at Dillard's when they had a decent sale and it's one of the best purchases we've ever made.

As stated above, one place that you spend money that you DO NOT want to skimp on is a mattress and sheets. If you spend the extra $$ (even hundreds, if necessary), you will find that it is money well spent. If you want, think about it this way. How much time do you spend in your car each day and how much do you spend on your vehicle (not just original price, but gasoline, insurance, repairs, etc)? You spend considerably more time in your bed, so spending $1500 vs. $500 shouldn't be an issue.

If anyone here hasn't tried out a Simmons (and you usually sleep with someone else in bed and/or toss and turn a lot), go somewhere where you can lie down on one and check it out.

Good luck.

Just called, Sold out in Gainesville, FL

Have to aggree with everything you said about Simmons Beautyrest. I have a king set myself. It is superb mattress. I think WalMart.com still carries Simmons Beautyrest. Check it out

I can confirm these are NOT on clearance in the El Paso stores.

Sold out in Austin, all stores. All they got left are twin.

Could someone post the Sams Item numbers for the king/queen mattresses that are on sale. Thanks

Not on clearance in Birmingham, AL either... but I'll certainly keep checking. Thanks OP

What determines if the stores decide to put them on sale or not?

Sam's is changing the line of bedding they are selling. The new line sells each piece separately, and the type of mattress has changed. I can't remember what the difference is. Some stores have changed and others have not. The store near my Chicago suburban area changed weeks ago. I think a king was about $275 - and that may have been with tax. Sorry - I can't remember the details, but it should help you to know that if your store still have the two (or three for king) piece sets the store has not changed over yet.

Nice to know we have a senior fellow fatwalleter here at birmingham I bought one at the 150 sams anyway today, let me know if the price drops so I can get some money back!thanks.
