Deal is dead, but for those who ordered, call Outpost and let them know the 20 dollar rebate is invalid and they will issue a credit.

NERO 6.3 ULTRA EDITION

Price 69.99
50 Outpost Rebate
50 Rebate

20 Competitive Rebate (invalid, not elible w/50 rebate)
20 Rebate

Product

Looks like a good deal to me, even w/o a product for the upgrade rebate 20 bucks seems like a good price.

Outpost posted it far after competitive rebate, but the 50.00 rebate states not eligible with 20 competitive rebate. Therefore, I've updated my post. Unless Outpost puts up a different rebate, looks the the FAR is dead

Please note: The link on outpost for the competitive rebate is not working. I called outpost and they told me it was included in the box.

I was just sent the upgrade rebate via email. It is in fact upgrade rebate 47904. The 50 dollar rebate states that it is not eligible w upgrade rebate 47904. Looks like Outpost has the an error in their sale add. So I guess it's going to cost 20.00. I'll update my title unless I hear anything further.

I wish Outpost would check the rebate requirements out more carefully before posting the deals .

Both rebate links go to the same form.

note on the $50 form:

This offer is NOT valid with Competitive Upgrade Rebate #47904. Copies of UPC codes not accepted. Requests must be postmarked by 06/09/05.

I already called outpost to confirm. Someone is sending me a copy of the 20 rebate. I will post if it is in face rebate #47904. She said she'd send it in a couple of minutes.

let me know, i would like one . . .

on another note, it is in the Fry's ad today for $67.99 - $50 MIR = $17.99
If the $20 Rebate is good, -$2.01 total (+ tax on $67.99)

strange, but the one online is version 6.3 Ultra

in the newspaper ad, 6.6 Ultra

6.6 is the newest version

Both rebate forms require the original UPC. So far, this is not a FAR deal.

Isn't $20 plus shipping still a good deal? This is still far below retail value, costing $84.99 at Amazon and $79.99 to register the trial copy.

rkbuyer said: [Q]Not only is the 20 rebate invalid, the price has been increased 15.00 at 35.00 this is not such a hot deal, so I'm marking it dead.

The software is still listed at $69.99 (minus the $50 rebate) as far as I can tell. Where are you getting the extra $15 ?

You can get Nero 6 ultra edition at www.isellsurplus.com for $19.99. Last month they had free shipping but I thinking shipping is pretty small. I got mine after about 1 week. Pretty good and no dealing with the rebate.

It says: OEM CD Only

Buy.com has the 6.6 ultra version for $28.99 AR here

I'm wondering that myself. I'm also seeing it listed as only $69.99.

dudes, they changed the price online for a day or so . . . back to normal. at fry's in houston, they just say version 6, not 6.6

They show it as -.01 now on the web site

Outpost is really asking for it here...having their website showing the end prices as -0.01. I have a feeling you could argue the expired rebate issue and end up getting the $20 refunded as lond as you have a copy of the website. Anyone going to try it???

I'm in. Already saved the web page as a pdf.

titewad I'm in for one with you. I printed out the webpage and used my AMEX card. Last night I went to the NERO site and it looks to me if you have a copy of NERO 6 or above you can upgrade to the 6.6vs for free download.

I am in for one too. Outpost always has a habit of not posting the rebates until monday or tuesday.

But you can see there was an old $20 rebate HERE which is not an upgrade rebate and does not require the original UPC. I am hoping a revised version of this form will follow.

EDIT:

Nero has always allowed updates within the series for free with retail copies. So this version is good for updates until 7.x

They had changed it, but evidentally changed it back down. I don't know what they are doing.

My order shipped. Tried the rebate link for the $20 and it still kicks-up the old rebate. Called Outpost and they emailed me the $20 rebate they had. Guess what? It's the "competive upgrade rebate #47904". Should have known!! Called back to Outpost and was told to send in the rebates and when you get the rejection they will supply a fax# to send ALL info and they will issue a check for $20. Gosh thats allot of work. Should have known!! Maybe I'll call in the morning and double check on this. Maybe...hopefully...there is a simple way to accomplish the same thing.

Think I'll shoot for the Buy.com version - free shipping - try both rebates since their $50 rebate doesn't exclude the upgrade rebate - version 6.6 - none of the Outpost BS!

Thanks for the posts

Now I can't imagine the look on your face when you go through ALL that work and find out that Outpost is not going to pay you $20. A shame, yes. However, the lesson to be learned of Outpost rebates is never come, maybe come, shoulda come, but they just don't care.

[Q]Think I'll shoot for the Buy.com version - free shipping -

I went with the Buy.com deal also. Without the upgrade rebate, it's only about a dollar more than Outpost, considering that Outpost charges shipping and Buy.com does not. I would rather pay the slight extra to not do business with a company that has false advertising.

Well, both rebates ask for the original UPC at Buy.com too, so I wouldn't count on getting them both...

(for some strange reason this site won't let me use the screen name of the particular person i'm quoting in my post.)

NOT TRUE!!! I've had problems with rebates before and Outpost stepped up and paid out of their own pocket. If you have had a problem with Outpost before...sorry...but not everyone has. I trust they will pay this time but as I pointed out it will be allot of work...but ALL rebates are allot of work but we do them.

I checked the Buy.com site but dont see the deal your talking about. No rebates listed for NERO!
Were are you seeing this deal? Thanks

The Buy.com deal $78.99 -$50MIR -$5 (off $50 S/W purchase) + free S/H expired 05/23/05.

Update to Outpost's product page:

[Q]$50 mail-in rebate can not be combined with the competitive upgrade rebate.
Link for the $20 upgrade rebate is now nowhere in sight.

In other news, they've also updated the version number on the page to 6.6, and that's the version they said they shipped in my e-mail confirmation.

That was easy...just got $20 credited to my CC for the vanished rebate. Now all I need to do is send in the $50 NERO rebate...FREE software baby!! which now is listed @ $99.99. Thanks OP

I got one from isellsurplus 2 weeks back. It is 6.3 and I upgraded to 6.6 for free download here. Free shipping. They are slow on shipping so remind them next day after ordering. Use save10 coupon code to get 10% off.
