I think it's probably refurb but not sure. He probably got em during that 20% off Dell outlet coupon last week. Everything I've brought on CL is legit though, that is product matches what their asking price is. So who know =D

Even if that "seller" upgraded the RAM to 2 GB aftermaket and got the hottest XPS 2 Outlet deal with coupon, that would still be going for a loss. Why sell for $1650 on CL when it can sell for $2K+ on eBay easily?
Edit: even the product images were ripped off of a (likely legit seller's) eBay listing.

Can the XPS Gen 2 hang in heavy gaming? I know the geforce 6800 ultra is a nice card but can it play battlefield 2 or any newer games at max settings and resolution?
