I have never gotten my money's worth from the entertainment book. their is only one coupon in it near me, the rest i have to drive ten miles and pay $10 to $20 to park. between the parking and gas, i found it much better to look for coupons on different sites that gave the same discounts, were within 5 miles, and had free parking.

ALWAYS present the card AFTER the meal. i usually do so when they say "do you want anything else". i say "yes, take some $$$$ off yo! take that!" <toss card in their face> (ok, not really)

i really don't think that is comparable. the key to entertainment book is that they have "buy one entree, get one free" at restraunts. you simply will not find that (usually) in free coupon books etc.
i easily get my money's worth (and much more) going out for indian food and movies around here. unless you guys have a better way, you save a few bucks everytime with the movie coupons. (some places won't let you use them on new releases for full discount, but you still get some discount). that alone would do it for me.
ps: i get mailers like everyone else for pizza coupons and restraunts, but they never never never are as good as the entertainment book ones. for instance; i'll get 1/2 off at a restraunt with entertainment book, while their mailer will be 20% off entire bill.
boulder, co
pps: it was exponentially better in so-cal though.

I usually buy my Entertainment coupon book for between $5-13 here in the Los Angeles Area, and just one meal at one of the places I'd visit anyway with the g/f saves us that much and more. So even though I know I'm not getting the most out of my book, I still get it every year.

restaurants.com can be better than the book. at some of the restaurants you can get $25 worth of food for $5. others you get 50% off for $1.50. some of the others you get the same deal, but you have to spend $35 total. that isn't a problem when you take someone. still others require you to get 4 entrees.
entertainment also has a new online service. they gave me a free one month trial period. you print out the coupons yourself. every place i went would humiliate me by telling me they had never even heard of it, that it was a fraud, and every body around me would listen in with disbelief. after three time, i gave up on that. the book at least works, although some places make you give them the card they give you with the book so they can punch out their spot in it.
i guess it depends where your located and the type of food you eat. i don't eat fast food and pizza, and i don't see any point in just getting my money back that i spent on the book.
for those of you who it works for, enjoy.
edit: here is the code for this month to get 50% off at restaurant.com - 72543 it expires 9-1
I had one Indian restaurant here in Newport, RI that actually refused to accept it saying that it was not applicable during the summer season. No where did the coupon state that it was only applicable during a specific season. The waitress/manager never saw a tip from me and I have steered all my friends away from that place. Its a shame that for a price of lunch meal, they could have received FREE word of mouth recommendation from potential customers.
On another note, I've used the entertainment book for car rental in the past. However, you can easily go to the Entertainment Book website and get discounted car rental automatically through their weblinks. So why do I need the book for that now?

I see this offer anywhere on the Entertainment site, and a search of Blockbuster pulls up nothing. and the email page you have to hand fill out to contact them isn't working. PIA
