They are obligated to read you a verbal statement that takes about 45 seconds or so, and you have to say yes that you agree, if they are going to extend your contract. So unless you agreed to this, you didn't get extended -- and if you didn't agree to it and your contract was extended, then you're owed a lot more than 100 free minutes! |

I've never tried "not" agreeing to that final statement, but it's my guess that you won't qualify for the discount if you don't agree. |

I sent a letter of complaint to TMo corporate that they were offering the FAR Amazon deal. They wrote back saying I could extend my contract 1 year and get the Razr for free.

I am out of contract, I called out and get Motorola RAZR for $ 139.99 + nokia 6010 (2nd line) for free. Besides that I also received 1st and 6th month Free !
I will try to submit the rebate, I hope it works. I am in family plan for $49.99, they also upgraded my family plan to 500 minutes, free night and weekends.

Correct, if you don't agree to the extension, then you don't get a discount (you can get a new phone, but you'll pay more). e03179 was talking about another poster getting a 100 minute credit, which is not something they should be trying to extend your contract for. |

I think we have a winner for best deal so far If you're able to swing the rebate, you'll be in at $90 for two new phones, plus $100 in free service, which is better than a kick in the teeth. Maybe you'll get real lucky and can do rebates on both phones.... |

I'm not sure about hapcollins, but i've been with T-Mobile since 2001 and have been out of contract for over a year; have been on the $39.99 plan. I was given the RAZR for $75.
You can pretty easily determine how much you will be offered by going to the T-Mobile upgrade section on their website, then subtract $100 or so.
From my FAQ above: You can see the regular upgrade price online without calling. Just go to T-Mobile.com, log in (bottom right), click on Phones and Accessories at the top, then click Upgrade ("A New Phone Every 12!"). This will show you the non-discounted upgrade price for your account, which is based on how long you've been with T-Mobile, your monthly plan amount, how far along in your contract you are (or are out of contract), payment history, etc. Expect to use this price as a starting point, but you should be able to go down at least $100 from there. |

Got any details? How much do you pay every month, how many months have you been with T-Mobile, how far along are you in the contact, and did you speak to an account specialist? Maybe we can help you out |

Well-done, man...!!! BTW, could you share your letter w/ us (just blanked out your personal info)? So, we can take a ride on your letter as a pre-approval.

I will keep using my iPaq... (Yeah, the iPaq's size is humongus...you could crush your toe, if you're not becareful & dropped it.) Anyway, I want to get a (free, if possible) RAZR for my wife. Hopefully, I can get it unlocked. (Then, BAM !!! I'll switch Cingular, if I can hack for a few good free ph's. Plus, my iPaq won't have a call-waiting problem on Cingular's GSM network. )

Tmobile is supposedly going to add some real quality phones in the future. HTC type and they seem to be real nice. If they would get the n70 I would be all over it. Bottom line is tmo is still the best bang for the buck if you have coverage. |

Yes, they are supposed to be getting the two new HTC palmtops, but they were also supposed to be getting the Treo 650 -- hell, I called them in June and they said that they had received an email saying it would be shipping in July. In July, they said it would be october. Yesteday, they said they weren't going to get it at all.
The nice thing about T-Mobile's new upgrade plan is that you can upgrade again later (or so they tell me) -- if you get a new phone now, and a nicer phone comes out in three months -- you can upgrade. Of course, you won't be getting any mega discounts on that new phone, but the fact that you can sell your other handset for good money helps a lot. |

Totally agreed...!!! However, T-Mo's network dept. SUCKS!!! They can't even fix the call-waiting issue in NYC & suburb areas specifically on my iPaq. (Since the end of Jul '05, they just kept giving me the same crappy & BS reason; sorry, we do have a problem w/ the towers in your area... Yeah, right...T-Mo has very "serious" problems not only w/ the towers, but w/ its GSM networks !!!)

Three calls to T-Mobile so far and I've gotten the same offer all three times: $199 for the Razr. If I were any nicer, sugar would be dripping out of my mouth. I just can't seem to get the right person on the phone. |
