mannyv said: I used to go in the 80s, in the old stadium. It was awesome! I remember watching the epic Connors/Agasi match in the stadium - unbelievable. I used to live right down the block from the old Forest Hills Tennis Stadium (which I assume is still there). Very uncomfortable seats (benches?)! Never went to the matches, but they had concerts during the summer and I could sit on the roof of my apartment building and listen. Of course, I had to convince the police to let me drive down the block during the events, since I had a garage. |

If you want, when you get off the Van Wyck, you may be able to park underneath the highway and walk, if you want to chance your car being there when you get back. |

I can't get it to work. When you request the tickets, how much are they before the promo code? |

I was there last night for Roddick/Muller - by the luck of the draw with the cheap nosebleed seats. Trust me, its worth it! The seats (we were at the very top) were still enjoyable and you can see and hear everything. It was my first time at the US Open, so I have a few pointers that you probably already know if you've been there before.
They have water fountains, else $3.75 for a bottle of water or lemonade, I think $4 for a small soda. An 8" Sub (cheesesteak, turkey, etc) costs $8, but a 12" sub is $12.50 and easily makes for dinner for two. The lady offered us an extra plate and it was cut in half. $6.25 each is cheap for a NY event and it was pretty good.
No backpacks are allowed in -- they have a bag check so don't bring one. However, women with purses bigger than my backpack were allowed to bring them in after being searched and the searches were thorough. They weren't checking pockets so if you want to bring a power bar or something, go for it.
The lines weren't bad to get in (after getting bags searched) but there is an express line for people with no bags, so consider leaving your purses/bags at home if possible.
Have a great time! I'm definitely going to try and go back! |

This is probably a stupid question, but I can't figure out when I can use the code to get the $10 tix... I searched for best available seats, found $45 ones, then I'm immediately taken to the billing section. I'm hesitant about putting in my cc info without seeing if the code went through... anyone mind helping me out?
Thanks, newbie |

There is a spot for the code RIGHT ON THE PAGE where you request the tickets. It's really quite simple.. at least I thought it was. |

They weren't checking pockets so if you want to bring a power bar or something, go for it. But they did allow me (on Saturday) to bring in a tote bag (with a zipper top), and I had food in there. As I said earlier in the thread, food is allowed in, in small quantities. If you wanted to bring a sandwich (as I did) and a bag of chips (as I did) and a bottle of water (ditto), I do not think it would be a problem, it certainly was not for me. |
