There's a guy on eBay selling these cables for $25 with a lot of purchases. So if you're incapable or too lazy, then you could spend $50 for the whole package and there you go!

you checked them all? lol jk, I am also wondering how the video quality is too.
I read about this camera in Consumer Reports and also saw a bit about it on our local TV news & they said the picture quality is very blurry. They showed some video shot by a professional photographer with the camcorder & I agree- it was blurry & poor quality. But, at the price, as long as you hack it, some picture may be better than none for those who have no camcorder & want some sort of picture.

Ah, that's the camcorder everybody has been using to catch those UFOs in the grainy, fuzzy videos!
I believe so. A friend of mine bought one of these off eBay recently (we live on the wrong coast so we can't buy locally) and it looks the same. After doing a cable mod, he was able to get the videos off it. It is pretty cool. Definitely worth $25 or $30. Take this to the beach instead of the $300+ one.

If that is it, then here is a good review of it below:

Not even close. A digital camera (unless you buy a $29 children's model) will have a far superior picture. But for $20, once it is hacked, this is a great buy. Our Kodak DX4530 digital camera takes movies, but they are 320x240 (like this CVS camera). Am looking for a cheap 640x480 model (so I may try the hack).

Excuse me, is it ONE TIME USE only?
pyrowu said: Hey guys, The ultra-hackable CVS digital camcorder is on sale until Sept 3rd for $24.99 with card.
Edit 1: Links taken down by mods. PM for links to help with mods. Edit 2: The camcorder has been modded to increase resolution from 320x240 to 640x480 and increasing the time limit from ~25 mins to 50 mins
Video quality is pretty good. Digitized format is Xvid MPEG4. The length and resolution of the camera can be adjusted thru a hack all the way up to 640x480.
You can check out sample videos here: http://camerahacks.10.forumer.com/viewforum.php?f=16&sid=b0c1ba5ad43ec1a832adc3046919575a
This was a really imnpressive one taken at 640x480 video bitrate of 2.1Mbps.
That way you would have the $20 of Clearsil plus the camera for $25.
Im in for this.

Hi guys it seems very nice but from the description here:
You cannot download the video directly to your computer. You need to bring the camcorder back to CVS and they will put your video on a DVD. The DVD will be viewable both on you computer or in most DVD players connected to a TV.
It seems very inconvenient if you have to bring it every time to CVS to download the video
with mods, will function like a regular camcorder. You will just have to plug a usb cord in and download it each time you want to "clear" the memory off of the camcorder.
