Just saw a commercial on my TV saying call comcast now for a 60 day FREE HBO and SHOWTIME. So just pass on the news.

1-800-COMCAST.

This might be regional, I'm in Arlington, TX.

Mods, please delete if repost. Thanks.

The catch is you have to remember to cancel. (1-800-COMCAST to cancel)

Allegedly, this is no cost for hook-up, no cost for cancellation.

You must have digital cable to qualify. Some regions offer Stars instead of HBO/Showtime.

THanks OP>>> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0>

I got a call tonight and they signed me up. I'm in MD.

no go for hbo and cinemax but i got starz for 3 months <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border=0>

Got it in OC, CA. Also got them to drop my HSI rate to $20 for 3 months.

90 days free in the Bay Area, got a flyer and saw it on TV ad.

This is available for current comcast subscribers? I don't mean current HBO/Showtime subscribers, but cable in general.

yes

Tried in Northern New Jersey and was rejected. No offer on this area.

No go in Washington state... bummer.

Do you have to subscribe standard cable program at least? I only have basic cable right now.

Does anyone know of a good deal for NEW customers in the bay area? I seriously need to watch some college football.

Well I called and after going back and forth I gave up. They said they got nothing for Baltimore, MD besides 14 bucks for HBO and free showtime for one year. What county do you live in MsMorrisine??

Wylie, TX (DFW area) - I called and the CSR said that it was for new customers only, but my account qualified for it?!? I have HSI and standard cable (no digital). Anyways, I have to setup an appointment to get the digital cable box or I can pick it up at the local 'payment center'.

Also, supposedly, it does not require a phone line either. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0>

Thanks OP!

90 Day free HBO in Salt Lake City. Also got them to give me the HSI for $19.99 for 3 months. Works until end of Sept.

I also got a call last week for free HBO and Showtime for 2 months. The next 6 months if I want to keep it would be $5 each for HBO and Showtime. I am in MD also, montgomery county...

No go for me in the NW burbs of Philly

But I've only got the very basic cable ($17/month) so it might be partially because I don't have a digital box as well...

Cable sux BTW - can't wait for FIOSTv to get here so we can get some competition going...

this also seems to be working for me with dish network. i thought it was a free preview weekend, as i first noticed it on friday night, but it's still going. weird thing is i've gotten no indication at all as to why i'm getting all these channels, but i'm not complaining. includes a couple versions of the movie channel, flix, and sundance for me too. good stuff.

no go in San Francisco, I was told that Bay Area doesnt parcipate in this promo and that I need to pay 5.95 for HBO <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border=0> this is weird !

Yeah - it seems to be a crap shoot - maybe I should call back and see if I get a more receptive individual <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border=0>

Thanks OP

Thanks OP. Got it in LA, CA.

If you dont already have cable in D/FW then you can go to a pawn shop and buy a dish or receiver and get Digital Gold (HBO and Showtime included) for $35 a month for a year. You have to be "switching from satellite."

did you call 1800comcast or the local number to get that deal? Also you can get $19.99 for 6 months at site like comcastoffers.com, for new customer or 120 no HSI customers only.

I just hope I'll get the same luck as you. Thank you

[Q]Also you can get $19.99 for 6 months at site like comcastoffers.com, for new customer or 120 no HSI customers only.

That's for internet access, not cable tv...

Harrisburg PA
I called the 1-800 # and today (Sept 7th)is the last day for the deal. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border=0>
It is true they(Comcast) will give you the deal for 60 days. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0>
However if you already have a promotion then they will cancel that deal and give you this one.
I have the $20 a month of HSI(year) & $4.95 (6months) for the digital box so no go on this one for me.
Comcast also indicated that they are soon going to be providing VOIP service for $43 a month in Hbg too.
Can you say price matching with Vonage? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0>

Philadelphia, PA

I got a flyer in the mail last week offering a year of Cinemax for $5 per month. Not bad if you're into the soft-core porn...

Edit: looks like somebody started a new thread about the Skin-a-max deal here.

I'm in SF Bay Area and got a different deal - digital plus package with HBO for 39.99 for 6m. Not a crazy good deal but my last promo ended and I was paying ~60 for digital plus alone, so I saved ~20 and got free HBO for 6m.

Deal not being held in central CA (Visalia). Oh well.

I just signed up for new Comcast service on Tuesday and asked about deals. They never mentioned this one, so I'll be certain to call them tomorrow.

Thanks OPie.

dishnet's been doing the free HBO one, not sure till when though, but it varies.

Comcast's DCTs are okay, the hardware isn't bad, it's just that the software comcast runs on them is really cheap. The On Screen Display (menu/channel surfing bar) is janky and goes blank if you channel surf too quick and well, it's shoddy.

That was with the "iguide". I ended up just doing regular cable + HSI <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0>

Only works for digital cable. I have limited basic and it was a no go because those channels are in the 300s or something.

no go in So. FL

b@stards put notes everytime you call... i called to check on Digital Plus with HBO for $39.95 for 6 months..was told you called yesterday about HBO promo.. i said so? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0> Anyway decided to go for the package mentioned above... I pay 49.99 for standard cable so this would be a saving for me
