1. Bulkier than avarage size of today's player.
2. Control buttons are located on both sides rather than the face panel. Plus no remote control, which makes it awkward to control while driving.
3. You have to get used to it's way of orginazeig songs: No folder there so no by folder option. Not that a big deal tho.
4. No a driverless device which limited it's usuage as a portable storage device.

Buy.com coupons work if you are in their e-mail list (i.e if you are on the list on which they send out promos etc.).....

Yes, it can benchpress 200 pounds. After a week or so of workout, it sheds the extra bulk and is the same size as Ipod Shuffle.

I bought the Zen Xtra 60 gig in Dec 2003 (for $425, ouch!) and to this day, i use it almost everyday (mostly in my car nowadays though). It pwns all iFads in almost every dept except size and looks. Then again, if you wanna pay an extra $200 odd for aesthetics, it's up to you.

Overall, this is a GREAT player and i couldn't be happier. I've dropped it about 5 or 6 times now nd even though i've got a few scratches, it still works great. The fact that Creative sound qulity is superior is a well documented fact and even the gheyest, most die hard Ap*le fanboys can admit that now.

Yes it's not plaug and play but once u get the drivers installed, it's a breeze. There's tons of software out there for this player (including plugins for winamp for the old-school among us). The headphone jack problem was very real (once upon a time) but has since been addressed. I've been fortunate to never have had that problem even though I was one of the very first ppl to get this player.

All said and done, this is a great payer for a great price. Green for you OP.

Got mine yesterday. This makes my fourth Creative player (JB, JB3, 30GB Zen Xtra, and now this one) and I have
been happy with all of them. I also have two Shuffles and my wife has a Mini, so I know all about Ipods too.
Don't knock this player if you haven't tried it. The bang for the buck can't be beat.

Is there a possible way to use this device for storage/backup without using the computer? like uploading pictues from my camera's CF card+reader, etc??

alert mods

I got mine 2 days ago. I have uploaded 2.7 gigs of mp3. The uploading is very fast. Just labeling takes a little bit of time. If you label everything properly in the organizer software provided then there are no problems. If everything is properly labeled then it works like having folders. You can organize by album, artist, file name, etc. So far I am really happy with it. The size is a little bigger compared to other mp3 players. It is the size of a palm. This is not a problem since it comes with a belt clip on the case. Don't get too scared about the size, it is really not that big. It’s just big compared to other mp3 players out there.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Echoing someone else's post, does anyone know if there's any way to upload digital photos to this thing (with a card reader or other device). I'm going to be traveling for a couple of months this winter and need some way to store a large quantity of digital photos.

I think I saw a option for uploading general files to this thing. I will let you know once I get home from work. It will be like 10:30 PM EST.
