I think you need a USB bridge that connect card reader and this player, using external power or power from the player.

I am eager to know the answer, too. But so far, I haven't figure out a good solution.

Yes you can store files on this. I used Nomad Jukebox zen explorer to drag files for storage. ( I stored several word document files.) This software is included in the package. Only thing is I don't think you can do this without the software. From what I know this thing is not plug & play device. Hope this answers your question.

So far i am happy with this player. Its a little big, though i use it in the car so it does not matter. Like any other player you have to make sure your music is tagged correctly or they will be put anywhere. I wish it came with better software, but after some research i found some good freeware that does a good job. I do wish Creative made this normal usb plug and play, installing a driver is pointless. Also it looks like there is a file size limit because i tried to xfer a 4 gig iso and it said file to big. Overall happy with it as long as it continues to work!
