You use the included software; like iTunes, it's all sorted by Artist, Album, etc...

I will be surprised if they didn’t have any kind of organizing system with 60 gigs of space.
(It would be like GOD putting us on earth without water and food.)
Then again it is designed by humans. I will let people know when I get it. Hopefully it will not be too late for the deal.
I have 2 of these.... good player, great bargain.... only prob was its bulkiness... hard to workout with... or strap to waist... or leave in pocket... not something you can leave in your front pocket and take off... the capacity and price is whats good about this player but for look and style it doesn't have it... also there is no arm band strap because of its size.

I was just saying to myself yesterday that I was going to buy an Mp3 player....lol excellent timing
I never really consdiered this brand, but it got excellent reviews (4 out of 5 stars)
What is the battery life on this? Advertised is 14 hours, but I think people are getting anywhere from 10-12 realistically which is fine for me. THere was one review where battery life was 2-3 hours. That isn't the case here, is it?
Does this work in the car? what would I need to get it to work in the car stero system?
Thanks for the post!!!!

My wife has had the 40GB version of the Zen Xtra for the past two years and she loves it. It sounds great and has performed flaswlessly.
I just ordered the 60GB for myself. I think it is a great player and a very good deal (storage vs cost). I do not mind so much that it does not mount as a mass storage device. The creative software works ok for transferring and managing the songs but Notmad Explorer is much much better.
I do have to make one correction to the OP though:
ZMan3000 said: The mp3 player can also be charged via USB. The power adapter can be used overseas as well, just need small attachment. This player does not charge the battery via the USB port. The original Nomad Zen can be charged via USB but the Zen Xtra does not support this.
manmadhudu said: Good deal OP! Thanks. Isn't this a better deal compared to last week's RS m:robe?
the m robe was 5gig and size of ipod mini for 100bucs
thi zen xtra is 60gig, bulky size for 200bucs....
it really comes down on what you need for a mp3 player... i have both... been using the robe to cause of the size and more portable and reasonable size... and my zen i use as a jubebox... when i have small gatherings or in my car... hook it up to some speakers and play away

I hear that creative players have better sound quality. Thanks for your input.
Got into the portable deal instead to take advantage of $50 coupon, $200 rebates and FAR softwares.

Speechless, could you elaborate on the $50 coupon? Does that apply to this deal?

Also, how do I redeem this coupon. The page says "Please click on the redeem button above", but I don't see one! Help appreciated.

Sorry for the repeated posts, but the redeem button is visible for me in IE. I was having problems accessing it with firefox. Thanks everyone. Looks like a good deal (tax was $17+ for me though )

Let there be Light is right! I saw this a couple days ago on SD and didn't jump on it because the forums were beating on it for lack of userfriendliness (no plug&play). Thanks nemospp! Too bad the software is $35 for full version...you would think this type of functionality would be included in a 60GB monster. Notmad functionality matrix
Anyone know a good FM transmitter to compliment this?

(or know a better way to connect to my OEM car stereo with no line-in?)

Stay away from the FM transmitter option....they sound terrible. Do what i did....go to Crutchfield and look up a head unit that will fit in your car with a AUX in(preferably on the front)and replace your old one in your car.
Hot deal. I picked up the 30GB model for around $100 and love it. Ordered this one to put other CDs on. Thanks OP.

Thanks. I knew someone was going to recommend that. I just got a new lease vehicle with a Bose stereo, but to me it's junk without the line-in. What a waste.

Before you jump on this deal, you may want to read the reviews of this product:
apologies for not using the link feature but when I did link the address, it wouldn't take you to the reviews sorted by Low reviews first.
I purchased it using my AMEX card. So I should have 1 year warranty. Right??? I called AMEX and they said electronics something like 1 year but I forgot to ask about the labor. Anybody knows how this works??????

After reading those reviews, why would anyone buy one of these! I am holding out for the Toshiba Gigabeat 60gig.
I checked out Toshiba Gigabeat F60, which is about $120 more. The reviews are mixed as well. Only thing differs is a color screen and you can create folders. But then the sound quality is not even close to the creative Nomad. The Toshiba does have a prefect size unlike Creative.
From my research I have concluded that there is no prefect mp3 player out there yet. IPOD = too expensive, battery is internal. Creative = Can't have folders and Quality of the product vary. Toshiba: also expensive, not enough reviews, sound quality is not that great.
It anyone knows a prefect portable mp3 player please post before Buy.com ships my order.
apologies for not using the link feature but when I did link the address, it wouldn't take you to the reviews sorted by Low reviews first. Most of the complaints are about the headphone jack problem which is no longer an issue.

Plz. elaborate....(is there a recall or ???)
Thanks The problem was fixed by creative. Nomadness.net is a very good resource to learn more about this player.

After the Zen Xtra was initially released there was a slip-steamed update to the product. This version modified the case to have a cutout that allows viewing the display without opening the case. It is also reported, but not confirmed, that the headphone jack was reinforced to correct the problem.
I just received my 60GB Zen Extra that I ordered from New Egg... it has the newer case. My wife has an original one with the old case but she has never had a problem with the headphone jack.

What I did was
zen portable for $433.xx with $200 rebate partition magic $60 with $60 rebate (very good deal) photoalbum $15 with $15 rebate
so basically it is 233.xx - 50 coupon = $187.xx
To do this first I added all the items, added coupon through click through. Coupon is not supposed to be good with affiliate program. But still I did by closing the Buy.com window and then going there by clickthrough.

So far i am happy with this player. Its a little big, though i use it in the car so it does not matter. Like any other player you have to make sure your music is tagged correctly or they will be put anywhere. I wish it came with better software, but after some research i found some good freeware that does a good job. I do wish Creative made this normal usb plug and play, installing a driver is pointless. Also it looks like there is a file size limit because i tried to xfer a 4 gig iso and it said file to big. Overall happy with it as long as it continues to work!
