Starting in October, AAA Members can have their vehicles inspected for free at AAA Car Care Plus or participating Approved Auto Repair facilities. AAA's 36-point visual inspection, a $40 value, includes such maintenance items as belts, hoses fluid levels, tires and batteries.
To find a participating facility offering free inspections, look for an Approved Auto Repair facility with a wrench symbol . AAA Car Car Plus facilities in Sacramento and Santa Clara are also offering free inspections.
Please call ahead for an appointment.
Note: The FREE car inspection program runs October-December 2005 only.
CA, NV and UT are the only states allowed in "AAA-Approved Auto Repair Shop" search.

The AAA Car Plus people are quite polite but to be honest I'm not sure they do a good job. They failed to mention a engine oil leak that is all over the gasket.

Are they going to talk you into all kinds of repairs when you don't really need them? I should take my son's car in and see what they say...I just had a 36 point one done, replaced all belts etc etc. If I like their answer, I will take mine (see how distrustful I am of repair fascilities?)
Car Care Month Special valid at least in mid atlantic region. For members only. Please call (800) 957-9222 to schedule your free inspection.

well. I have a nissan car and they frequently send me flyers ever quarter or something about a free 100 point inspection... They havn't forced me to repair anything and it's probably illegal. They'll probably tell you the typical things, need an engine flush and your fluid lines are slightly leaking but not necessary.
