Staples.com has this player for $99.99 (sku 587904), Sears.com has it for $59.88, (order online and choose in-store pickup) Add a filler to reach $100, use $20 off $100 coupon (can get from eBay), it will come out as: 99.99-20 coupon - (99.99-59.88)*110% PM =$36, need to be in stock at local Sears stores to avoid $15 shipping when doing PM, so YMMV
Dujimo1 said: I tried but the Staples Customer Service rep. said the Mfg. numbers were different. They are the same, although it appears to be different, the model should be SDMX1-512. Sears has it as SDMX1512-SND BL, which just states the color is sand blue. Staples has it as SDMX1-512-A18, still the model is SDMX1-512. I am pretty sure the UPCs are the same.

No go. Holly used that difference as excuse to deny my PM, although I pointed out on Sandisk.com only has one model

hmm, at Staples B&M, i noticed the sandisk model right besides the samsung 1gb deal in which i got in for 100 dollars minus 12 percent etc.
the sandisk was at 99.50 so as with the samsung it might actually cost less. if anybody can check....

PM to Sears finally went through, NOT an easy one though... the representative initially told me that he could not complete the ordering process from sear's website, then told me he talked to my local Sears store and it's OOS, both turned out to be lies - I successfully ordered it online at Sears.com and my local store told me they had four in stock. Then the representative told me the price difference is too large it has to be approved by the "corporate". No reply after two days. Yesterday another rep told me they needed to "verify whether or not Sears is an authorized dealer"... PMed today again and finally it went through.

even though my nearby Sears stores are out of this mp3 player, I got the price match. They won't call to verify, they would just search online. But they still charge my $4 shipping fee(:

I hav this and is pretty good, but freezes up when u add too much song, and battery life is like 12+ hrs.
edit: oh i paid 100 at bb in jan, so i guess is pretty good, but COUPON is truly YMMV with PM in Staples.

Thanks a lot, OP and Staples! Worked like butta' for me. Ordered online, used fleabay $20 of $100 coupon, used measley $2 StaplesRewards check. Waited for order confirmation email, then went to online chat w/ Staples CSR, gave them the Sears link, told them it was in stock and shipping was free, and.... DONE. $44.12 credit. Right on.

I'm looking for some advice -
There is a new Staples Grand Opening in the Boston Area tomorrow, and this morning's Boston Globe had some coupons (in-store only, only valid tomorrow at the new store in North Andover, MA). They are excellent coupons: $20 off $50 and $40 off $100. I'd like to use them to get the Sandisk 512 Mb MP3 player, and I am wondering the best way to hedge my bets.
It seems like people have posted here that have successfully combined the Sears PM with a coupon and they have done a PM with the "before coupon" price, rather than the "after coupon" price, which is how they say they do price matches in the FAQ on Staples.com. I see two ways to do this:
1. Buy mp3 player with filler, use $40 off $100 coupon, then call or go on-line for price adjustment. A. If they price match the "before coupon" price to Sears, it will end up costing 99.99-40.00-1.1*(40.11)=15.88! B. However, on the FAQ on Staples.com, it says they only price-match the after coupon price $59.99 vs $59.88 won't save me much more.
2. Get in-store price match to $55.88 (99.99-1.1*(40.11)), and buy with the $20 off $50 coupon to end up paying $35.
Any advice from people who have done coupon/PM deals with Staples before as to how best to maximize my savings?
