SHADYnky said:My buddy who I mentioned earlier that works in the game department at TRU just called me and he said he talked to his store manager and there is NO sale this is bogus. I respect your arguements that an employee would lie to a customer so they could get a deal BUT there is no way that a store manager would lie to an employee about this especially when the manager is good friends with that employees family.
If this was at all legit then don't you think a store manager would know?? This is bogus, end of discussion.
It's a hoax! |

Alright everyone relax... stop calling the stores, stop asking questions of managers and corporate, and leave poor Geoffery alone, he's busy this time of year.
If you think it's a hoax then by all means don't go to Toys R Us, especially don't go to the Toys R Us in South Hills of Pittsburgh, cause I'll be there tonight picking up some games for possible price reduction tomorrow. If it turns out to be a hoax, then well I'll return them.
I have taken advantage of price reductions at both Toys R Us and Circuit City, often catching the store's employees completely unaware. It's better if the store doesn't know about it, because then us non-employees actually get a crack at the titles. Of the two, Circuit City was more memorible, since everyone in the store was clueless as to why my seven Xbox titles were ringing up 5.99-9.99. I even got the Sega GT/in-line skate combo for 1 penny (which later was shown to be a mistake). |

everyone is gets discouraged so easily about such a great deal. for most of you speculating that this deal is already dead, boo on you. how do you know? not to say this deal isn't a lie. EA has claimed lackluster video game sales for the holidays for their inability to meet this quarter's estimated profits. so i could see that this could be a possiblity, even though we know that is a cop out answer.
i worked at Circuit City before, and at the end of the night the computers downloaded updated price tags unbeknownst to the managers. these price tags included sales items, clearanced items, price corrections, etc. this was a couple years ago, mind you. such a system could exist for TRU today that would bypass all the knowledge of managers and keep employees from abusing such a good deal or good deals in the future... i.e. hording all the sale merchandise and then reselling on fleabay.
anyways my point is there are information systems that can go around the knowledge of managers and employees, we shall find out tomorrow if this sale is valid.... so stop throwing in worthless "this deal is dead" crap. |

yeah, flame now, ask later indeed.
whether or not you're wanting it to be a hoax, i would much rather this be a legit deal b/c i need to pick up a few games on that list.
so for me, i'm hoping it isn't a hoax, unlike a bunch of flamers who want to say "I told ya so" afterwards. |

The big hoax would be if the people who is saying its not legit is saying it to deter people from going at the store tomorrow. Best bet is to be there tomorrow if you really want the games. |

LMAO at the people who've already called/checked with their store. You can forget about it because even if it is legit, thanks to you the employees will be stocking up now!
