This is a follow-up to my previous post.

We've had the King size set pillowtop for a couple of weeks now. I don't find the bed as comfortable as I had thought it would be. The back bothers me in the mornings, which it did not use to and I toss around a lot more. I was used to a plush/firm bed with a memory foam on top. We decided to go pillowtop because we found the memory foam 'too hot' in the summer. Our problem with the pillowtop seems to be related to feeling the indentations made by the buttoned down pillowtop. It is not an even smooth surface as the memory foam was. Does anyone have any experience adding a thin (1.5 - 2 inch) memory foam to the pillowtop?

Thanks,

Mike

We received the bed about a week ago and really need a bed that is super firm which this bed is not. From all the reviews the bed is great, we've only slept on it a few nights. Willing to sell for my 40% off price if anyone is interested in the KC area, email me if you want to test it out. We purchased the King Plush Mattress only.

last week I stayed the entire week at the San Diego Westin Emerald Plaza. $450/night and I've got to say a major disappointment overall. As far as the hotel is concerned, it was not even close to being a $450/night hotel. This distrubing trend of these fancy hotels to charge $10/day for Wi-fi is a joke. Even $39.99/night Super 8's have free wi-fi. As far as the hotel amenities were concerned, the Reebok fitness center was nice. But other than that there was nothing that really seperate it from the other starwood hotels. Every Sheraton I've ever stayed at has outperformed this Westin at normally half the price. Their Heavinly showerhead was really nothing special and their TV setup was useless. My room had a 32" plasma TV but the kicker was that it offered 24 channels in glorious Analog . Not a single digital channel A total joke. Premium hotel my ass, I've stayed at Holiday Inn's and Clarion's that were nicer for sure.

As for the bed, it was above average. Still Not nearly as good as the beds at the Sheraton Pittsburgh. The sheets were very nice and the comfortor and duvet cover were exceptional. I tossed and turned a little more than I'd like to. By the Way, this hotel used to be a Wyndham Hotel but was totally remodeled and updated within the last year. All of the amenities were updated to Westin including the matress. I actually checked to make sure

Overall I've give the Westin San Diego's matress and comfortor setup an 8 out of 10 while I'd give the Sheraton pittsburgh's a 9.5 out of 10.

The hotel rating would be closer to a 5 out of 10. Just nothing to justify $450/night

What kind of mattress does the Sheraton Pittsburgh use?

They use the Sweet Sleeper beds. Not sure how close they are to the Westin beds but considering they are both Starwood hotels they are probably similar. To me thought the Sheraton bed was the most comfortable bed i've ever slept in. bar-none.......

Now I'm torn. I always wanted the heavenly bed, but we just moved into a rental that won't fit a king. So now I'm thinking just a temporary queen for 2 years before we move..

So then I saw this on costco online http://www.costco.com/Browse/Productgroup.aspx?Prodid=11168623&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&lang=en-US

Which is the novaform comfortluxe. Any comparison to the heavenly bed?

I think ultimately the "hotel sheets" is the other 30% that make the bed. The cool satin silky feeling of those smooth sheets when you slide into bed is a big part of the experience. The look and style of the W and Westin bedding make a difference as well.

I would love a 30-40% discount and I'd get the W pillow top with the bedding sheets

What are the chances it pops up again in the next month or so?

Those sheets are great but as often as sheets need washed it's hard to keep them nice and soft. Maybe the key is to always shower imediately before bed and never ever have sex on those sheets

Save the sex for the kitchen table and use the bed and sheets exclusively for freshly showered sleeps. That way you can get away with less washing. lol

Hello,

We purchased a W Hotels King-size pillowtop. The bed 'looks' very comfortable but we are having a hard time adjusting to it. We think that the hills and valleys caused by the buttoned-down pillowtop is causing the discomfort. The pillowtop is somewhat firm and we feel the indentations. We were wondering if anyone has used a 1.5-2.0 inch memory foam mattress pad on this bed.

Thanks,

Mike

We have the same problem, we recently bought a bed and it is too high. We should have ordered low-profile foundation in the first place. Not only for the hight, if we got the low profile bed, then we don't need bed skirts.

Does any one if we can exchange/buy low profile foundations for cheap?

Rapier said:jyrules said:Took delivery today. Everything is fine. The only problem after I open everything is there there are some small holes on the side of the foundation, looks like there are some rusty nail heads and punch small holes...etc. Gonna call tomorrow for exchange

BTW, anyone found the set are too high? w/ the frame, foundation and bed, it's almost 3 feet high!!! My dog is having problem climbing onto it. I wonder if I can exchange for a low profile foundation?

According to your other post, you got the plush and foundation. I thought I read that the foundation is like 8.75" thick and the mattress ~11" for the plush version. Do you have a really tall frame or are my measurements off.

My dachshund will need a ramp or an elevator. So much for the ottoman working for her when this new bedding set get here.

If any one living in Northern Virginia going to order King Ultra plush mattress only, please PM me. I need low profile box springs (I ordered normal ones when I bought the mattress few months back). I can pay the difference (including tax plus a reasonable gift as a thank you!) and I'll pickup the box springs from your place.
I tried calling WHotels customer service & also the 1.800.mattress Customer service. They are quoting too much money for box springs alone.
