It is *not*. It is the W Bed, NOT the Heavenly Bed.
It is the Heavenly bed - I've confirmed this multiple times with the CSR |

That's true, but more specificaly it's the Heavenly Bed's Mattress and Box Spring, as the "Heavenly Bed" also has all the sheets and extras with it.
One thing I'll mention as I was looking for mattress's. My Chiropractor advised me to go for the plushtops over the pillowtops. The reason being that with no flip mattress's it's hard to "fluff" the pillowtop as it over time takes your shape. She said it's better to get an additional topper later that can be replaced. I'm not sure how true this is as I've slept on futons and floors all my life. |

I'm not sure how true this is as I've slept on futons and floors all my life.I ordered the plush top set and the 4" featherbed topper from the W Store for an extra $165, the plush top is substantially cheaper than the pillow top so ordering this combination is cheaper than the pillow top alone plus as you said the featherbed topper is fluffable/replaceable. Seemed like a better deal to me (although all the down products from the W store are now delayed until 1/6 so I've got the plushtop mattress only for awhile) |

Erm, but the sale is on the W Bed and the Westin has the Heavenly Bed. Or are you just figuring it's close enough?
According Cust. Svc at the phone # listed on the W site, the "plush" is the same bed used in W hotels and the "pillowtop" is used at Westin hotels (the pillowtop IS THE HEAVENLY BED), (other posts in this thread confirm). |

The wife and I are heading to Nordstroms tonight to check out these beds. For those of you with a Starwoods rewards card, you may want to try a phone order and try getting points for the purchase. (Not sure if it would work but you might as well try.)

I went to Nordstrom yesterday to check the Heavenly Bed. It is really nice one. The mattress is firm underneath and the pillow top is quite comfortable. The price is actually not bad. For queen size set (including boxsprings), it is $1250+tax. The price includes shipping and old mattress disposal fee. I'm not sure if I can get the additional discount if I apply Nordstrom card. If so, the price is comparable to the internet price ($1450-20%). |

Thanks for the tip! Nordstroms wanted $40 more plus $200 shipping plus 6% sales tax. Saved so much I got their down pillows with covers too. Happy New Year!!! |

hey, Winter, did they charge you extra shipping for your featherbed topper? It is charging me $25.00 shipping(CSR said that matress set price has shipping included therefore $0 shipping fee). My only concern is to just confirm that there is shipping fee for other items than Matresses and everyone paid shipping fee other than me. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here...
Thanks to "Winter" for quick response and help. Edited for Sp & "Winter's" response |

Long Answer: I called the W store to ask if they would remove the old mattress/boxspring and they said they could do that if I ordered it on the phone (extra $10) but that I would have to order everything else I wanted online separately. So I did get the matreess/boxspring shipped free (actually delivered the next morning - amazing speed) but for everything else I ordered online at the W store I was charged a heafty shipping charge:

I'm going to sleep on this tonight, and think it over with the wife. Anyhow, I'm leaning towards getting the plush top and featherbed option...as the thoughts of some posters seem to make sense. This may extend the longevity of the comfort of the bed?!? What do I know, but it makes sense. But what is the difference between the featherbed option and the mattress topper option? The featherbed is the one to get, right? And do I need the featherbed protection thingy? The protector thing doesn't sound too comfy...sounds like it is for the bed-wetters among us.
Edit:Thanks Winter. Appreciate it. |

The featherbed option is real feather/down.

Actually the protector is to make it more comfortable. More then one source has told me that with featherbeds you need some sort of down separator otherwise you can feel the feathers and it becomes uncomfortable and or itchy. However that doesn't mean you have to get theirs. I already have a mattress protector with decent padding so I'll use that as the extra down buffer.
I'm going to order the feather bed tomorrow but I'm a little disappointed with the return policy. I can understand with the beds that are custom made, not being able to return it. But if you open the feather bed you can't return it, or if you get it and then decide it's not soft enough without opening it you can return it but you lose out in almost $50 of shipping costs. |

Many, many thanks to the OP! I have been shopping for one of these mattresses for about a month now and held off pulling the trigger because I just did not feel comfortable that there was an obvious choice and a proper deal. This solved both in spades -- I was leaning heavily toward the Heavenly Bed but had held off because I did not want the pillowtop. I've read in many places that they just don't hold up over time, and when I checked it out at Nordstrom it just seemed a little *too* cushy for me. On the other hand, the only other option for a plush top was in used car-like mattress places, with high sticker prices.
Great and timely deal. Just put in my order. By the way, the phone guy said that there was no difference in ordering online and ordering over the phone. In fact, his system was down and he told me to just do it online. |

After much consideration, I have decided not to go with this bed. I think that we are going to go through Costco, because of the price...and the customer service in the event that the bed is not to our liking. Hmm. Thanks to OP and other posters tho. |

I'm generally not impressed by "whining", but I totally agree that this is a legitimate beef for housekeepers and I've been more dilligent about leaving tips in rooms because of things like this.
Drifting back to topic (and with all seriousness), the one thing that made me consider not ordering the "Heavenly Bed" linens (which will probably follow the mattress soon) is the huge pain in laundering and making up all that stuff. |
