Thanks OP. Now that you found a good deal on filters for me, I need to find a good deal on a humidifier
Best so far is this one for $32 though it is back ordered - there is free shipping and 2% FatCash. Still looking...They also have a 4gal model for $42.
this is a bump for a good deal (my only regret is forgetting to search before I sorta did a repost this morning by accident...apologies to the original poster)
I just got an emil this morning with tracking number, but the filter was not on the discount price,i had to call them to fix it,the lady said,it take couple week to adjust! only in american!
This is amazing, they screwed up my order and charged me shipping when it was supposed to be free. The total that they billed me is more than 3x what I was expecting! What a PIA.
Update (1-9-06): I called HD @ 1-800-430-3376. I was mistaken about the shipping, it was not charged, however the price for the filters was 7.98. They filled out a "Invoice Adjustment Form" for me and said that they would refund the difference and the associated tax on it, once approved by a supervisor and corp. Quite the bureauacracy for refunds, but they were helpful.
Updated (1-22-06): I called HD again and they are now saying that it could be up to 30 days before I get a refund, this is a really poor way to process refunds. I hope everyone else is having better luck. I was told that they had other similar calls and this seems to be their process - which is a process that will only serve to anger their customers. This is such a clear cut case - they overbilled and they should promptly refund the money. Now I am thinking of going to my CC since it was clearly overbilled.
Updated (1-27-06): Called HD back and they said that they credited the difference yesterday, yea!
Updated (2-03-06): I got my statement today and there was no credit on it, called my CC and they confirmed no credit has been submitted, they said that they need to wait 15 days from the claimed submit date before they can take action. Gonna be moving HD.com from the "on notice" board to the "dead to me" board if this does not get resolved soon.
Updated (2-21-06): Called HD.com back today, asked them where my refund is? Was told that they are backed up in the warehouse but they will contact them and hopefully have a resolution soon.
also fits 500 series? I found the filter is Model # HAC-504. It is a round one. My humidifier model HCM-525 needs ilter is Model # HAC-506 of rectangular shape. Is HCM-525 belong to 500 series?
You might want to watch your shipping notice. They charged me $7.98 each when they shipped mine. They are suppose to refund the difference. Said it would take about a week before it showed up on my card.
I hope you folks have better luck with HomeDepot.com than I did. Their are online customer service just plain sucks if anything goes wrong. I have no problems with the brick and morter stores but their online customer service is awful. I ordered something and got an out of stock notice on it. So I call and cancel and order a similiar item. Similiar item arrives I am happy (other than it was poorly packed). Canceled item shows up two weeks later. So I call and they say no problem you can just do a return and we will have UPS pick it up. Great. A week later UPS hasn't shown up. I call again and say I am happy to pay shipping can you just give me an address to ship it to and was told no, UPS HAS to pick it up for you to get your refund. UPS should come to you house any day now. Another week passes and still no UPS (wife is almost always home so we aren't missing them). I call a third time and the lady says I shouldn't order online if I don't have patience. I tell her I need to speak to a manager. She said they are busy with other customers they will call you. Several days pass still no UPS or call from manager. I was about to take up the issue with my CC company when I noticed the item I canceled which was 50% off when I "purchased" it was selling for more on eBay than I paid so I am going to put it up there to make my mine money back. Everytime I called a got a different story the service reps are either incompetent or liars or both.
You should check out there ratings here: http://www.resellerratings.com/seller8401.html

secstate, thanks for the links - I also heard a similar story about being busy after the holidays, but that cannot excuse this service - the last holiday was over three weeks ago now. I am usually patient and have nothing against the HD B&M stores - they are great, but their online shop seems amateurish for what should be a mature business by now. Sad.
I just got a humidifier from my parents and I can tell I already hate it. It has 3 settings: Off very loud and pretty loud. I want to use it when I sleep, but when it is that loud I CAN'T SLEEP! I guess these days can't can't make quality stuff. My parents have some VERY VERY VERY old humidifiers and they run pretty silent and get a good amount of moisture in the air.
