Long time reader, first time deal poster so go easy on me...
Show me some green love if you like this deal! This was done at Best Buy.
Seagate 300GB External USB 2.0/Firewire Hard Drive with 16MB Cache
1) Purchase the Seagate 300GB External HD from Best Buy between now and January 10th (expiration date of current Fry's ad) 2) Two rebate receipts print at register, one for $40.00 and one for $60.00 3) Walk out to your car and leave the rebate receipts there. Now arm yourself with a Fry's ad that shows the hard drive for $189.99. This is a big YMMV because the one on sale at Best Buy is the dual mode USB 2.0/Firewire while the one in the Fry's ad is USB 2.0 only. 4) Take Fry's ad and original receipt in. They will tell you that the computer will show the rebates as being invalid after PM. However, she did the PM and said that the computer didn't display that the MIRs would be voided!
Summary:
279.00 Seagate 300GB External -108.90 After 110% Pricematch to Fry's 1/6 - 1/10 ad -100.00 In Mail in rebates ------ 70.10 +tax on $279.00
An additional benefit of this deal is that you get a firewire interface. This is much faster for Mac users like myself out there than USB 2.0. The Fry's deal is USB 2.0 only.
How to make a million dollars and not pay taxes on it. First, Make a million dolars, then ..... tell the IRS that you forgot.

Yeah but the BBY MIR center will see the PM and deduct 108.99 from your 100.00 rebate. This is extremely YMMV, especially since its a different product.
