Can't find a good picture and they're not on the website.
Went to Home Depot looking for cheap blinds instead I found some good blinds cheap. Largest size (71"x72") was only $55. Forgot brand name, but will update when I get home 2night. These are plastic made to look like textured (wood patern), painted, wood 2" blinds. There are some color options including 2 different whites and Alabaster (imagine very, very light tan). I'm not 100% sure this is a great deal, but since I needed them this weekend I didn't shop around. Sales guy told me they were all 50% off, but I didn't see any 50% off signs anywhere and the sticker prices for them were correct... they were still 50% less than "real wood" 2" plantation style blinds (at about $110 for same size).
These can be cut to fit, Home Depot will do it for you at no charge. I have a strange size window, so sales guy even told me I could take them home and try them to see if they fit and if not I could still bring them back to have them cut.
I'll be going back this week to get more so I can do every window in my home. Just need to mesure all the windows.

update:
Went back in last night and it turns out this is their regular price. The guy that told me monday these were 50% off was not working and I asked a different girl (working this department) how long the sale was for and she told me these are the regular prices. Sorry everyone for the mistake.

I installed Home Depot cut-to-fit plantation blinds in my home 5 years ago. After 5 Texas summers they still look brand new. I even had to custom order some of them because they were extremely wide. Everything has held up very well.

Thanks for the info~~

i bought these at lowes just this past weekend. maybe not the same brand but the same description. the prices were much cheaper, nearly the same as the sale prices you mention, and they were regular priced. just fyi.

72 inch wide blinds (2 inch fake wood panes) by Levolor are $82 at Lowes in stock price. At HD this brand can only be custom ordered, at least in my neck of the woods (So. Cal.) and $55 together with nor being really 50% off, it is much cheaper than what it is selling for at Lowes. I am not sure if it is available where I am but for this price, I can take all mine down and return them to lowes and buy them from Homer's store even though I do not like them that much

Does anyone know how good/bad these are at blocking out the morning light? I have room darkening Levelor minis which are decent for light blocking. I think the ones at HD might be similar to the ones sold at LNT last week which clearanced out at $12.59 for a 36" x 64". Cheap!

Keeps my puter room dark but the edges need to be covered with drapes - looks good, stays dark, and best of all it's kitty proof! Picked up a ~5ft at HD for ~$12 because the pull hinge was 'stuck'. Easy fix(yank).

Mine were a tight fit so I get very little to no light through the edges. I'm not sure about light thruogh the slats, etc. I only got them installed yesterday so I don't have much to say yet, but they seem very well built. Gavin20's comment "kitty proof" was genius. They are about 1/4" thick so there's no way the "kitty" will be peeking his/her head through them the way he/she can with normal mini blinds.

2in blinds make a hugh difference if you have 1in installed now. I did my whole house with the HD blinds last year. Awesome quality and the were cheaper than what Lowes had in stock by $5-$10 a blind.

Also a recommendation for these. Installed in my prior house after our cats would sit in the window and pull down on the aluminum ones and bend them. These plastic ones look nice, but hold up very well and don't bend if the cats pull on them.

Need something darker in my media room, might go see if my HD by me has them.

The light really depends on the design of your window. My new house has double sliding wood windows, so you are unable to mount them inside the window, but rather on top. This does create a slight crack on the edge between the blinds and window. Nothing that a curtain or drape couldn't solve.

Lowes has a machine provided by Levolor - They can cut the Levolor faux wood blinds only on that machine.
Similar situation at HD but with different brand.

At either store, if you want any other brand custome-sized, you have to order thro' TOO EXPENSIVE custom order.

I got some of the 36x72 white blinds from Lowes for $46.xx few weeks ago. Later learned that HD has similar item different brand for $38.

Overall I have seen Lowes pricing marked up 10-20% than HD prices for similar items. I guess Lowes charges more for keeping their stores neat and clean and providing in-store help easily in comparison to HD.

Similar thing with WalMart and Target. Target seems to be 10-20% more expensive than WalMart in general.

Just my observations. Others may totally disagree.

I called a few Home Depots in Northern California. None of them have this sale. Definitely YMMV. Great Deal if you can find it!

Do you live around bay area? If you do, which stores did you call? Thank you!

My GF bought the levolar blinds from lowes a couple of weeks ago. I have to admit that even at full price they make the room look much nicer than those cheapo blinds did.

As for light blocking... these blinds DO let some light through. It's not terrible but they do not block all the light (I prefer pitch black while sleeping).

Any who, the levolar faux wood 2" blinds are great.

In our house we have both brands. Lowes which is Levolor and HD which I don't know the Mfr. Both are good quality and have solid construction. Lowes looks little bit nicer and heavier but HD is generally about $15-25 cheaper per windows and goes on sale more often. If you want to cover several windows (14 in my case) the price difference will be noticeable. You won't go wrong with either one.

how about compared the LNT levolor ones? are the levolor real wood ones better? how about light blocking comparing the 2?

Does HomeDepot do this for any blinds on a walk in basis? Do they check receipts when they do this??

Largest size (71"x72") was only $55 at OD is the usual price?
Are you saying that it is half of $55???
let's see the receipt ... if you dont' mind?

Just do like Elvis and tape aluminum foil over your windows for total darkness.

I am going to HD anyway today so I'll check my store and report back. I need some for my bathroom windows.

I've put window films on my bathroom windows. They look like painting during the day and the light can still come through fine. It looks very nice, if I may say so myself.

Called Pleasanton and San Ramon (East Bay). I wanted to do my whole house but I guess it'll have to wait. Maybe I'll go w/ Lowes.

I don't think anyone has seen this deal except for the OP yet. So far, it's been just a discussion. If anyone actually gets this deal, please post. Thanks.

Does Hillary Clinton approve these plantation style blinds?

Not sure if they check receipt, but I've found the people at HomeDepot very nice. Not always smart, but always nice. Walk in and ask if they will cut some blinds for you (since it sounds like you bought them somewhere else).

For those of you calling and getting shot down on the "sale".... i'm sorry. I got bad info on Monday when I was in there. I went back last night to get more blinds and asked a girl working the department how long the sale was and she told me that this is their regular price. Still seems too good to be true to me.
