Very good deal if you have a flat small yard. I have a small yard with a huge hill in the back, self propelled for me. The other disadvantage of the electric mower is the small cutting path usually 18 inches vs. 21 for a gas push mower. But people really do get used to the cord. My father in law had a 1/4 acre flat lawn and he could mow his lawn with a B&D electric mower pretty fast. But he had one of the old dual blade ones also and it might have been as big as a 22 inch cut.
Waste of money! This was one of the very few purchases I have regretted in my entire life. If it is corded, FORGET IT! Trust me on this one! I gave in after 1 yr and got a real mower. I wish I had listened to others who had the same thing to say as I am telling you now.
I have had my B and D electric for 2 years. I don't have a small yard and I love it!! YOu can get used to the cord...you just have to mow away from where you have it plugged in. It would probably not be great for a yard with lots of trees. Buying the one with the flip handle makes cord management much easier. As someone who used to struggle to get a gas mower to start, I love just flipping the electric on. Yes, it is a narrow cutting path and you have to make more passes, but I just consider it my workout for the day. It is much lighter than a gas mower, so pushing it is not bad and it mulches better than my gas one ever did. I am a single female and do my own mowing...I will NEVER go back to a gas mower.
