My first posted deal, so please be nice -- $184 for a Scheduler is a good price. If you simply don't like Roomba products -- please move on! Currently $329 at Amazon.

YMMV, of course -- Best Buy has the Roomba Scheduler for $230. Most Bed, Bath and Beyond stores will PM to Best Buy (they will either call B&M or you can show printout from BB website) They also allow use of their 20% off coupon (usually mailed out by BBB every few weeks).

PM to BB price: $230
less BBB 20% coupon: -$46
Price: $184 plus tax

The Scheduler model allows you to program your Roomba at a preset time, even when you're not at home (a step above the Discovery recently popular at Amazon).

Not every BBB store carries the Roomba products, but BBB is known for having a great "total satisfaction" return policy. Most of the time you can return a product for any reason at any time.

Let the robot vacuum for you -- leaves more time for shopping for deals!!

Very good deal pianodude, but in the future, you should really credit the original poster if you 'rip' the deal from someone else, even if it's at another site...

It's clearly a summary of this thread:

Credit should go to THX-1138 and Polly for finding the deal. Even still, it's a great deal and credit should also go to pianodude for bringing it to our attention here!

Where do you get a 20% off coupon? Does it have to be mailed to you?

[Q]They also allow use of their 20% off coupon (usually mailed out by BBB every few weeks).

i will go check this out later. thanks, op

Okay I broke down and finally bought one. You think I can use this to impress the ladies.

OK, dumb question, but I was wondering to the FWers out there who have this thing . . .
DOES IT REALLY WORK?!?!?

i would like to know as well..does this thing really work? i cant imagine it being any better than those crappy hand vaccums that attach to a stick.

and do these work on hardwood floors as well?

ok, here in boston, best buy and bed bath and beyond are right next to each other. i just walked over there and NEITHER store even carries it. i asked both sales reps and they didnt have them.. it must be only regional then? i searched the best buy website too and it wasnt on there..

any help?

I have a different model but YES it does work! It somehow senses there is dirt and goes after it. It systematically does the whole floor and has a little brush thing that sticks out the side and gets the corners. If theres a chair leg for example it goes around and around it until the dirt is gone. We use it on our whole house including the kitchen floor and the tile bathroom floor. Just make sure theres nothing in the way it can grab and get tangled in also make sure the throw rugs are up. It picks up catfood in the kitchen even.

Yes the Roombas really do work. Amazing lil critters. My two pull up an incredible amount of stuff from seemingly clean carpet and hardwood floors. They work tirelessly and get into the most amazing places that a conventional vaccuum does not typically go.

I really like mine so far. I bought the refurb Discovery at Amazon and use it every day. It picks up about 2 handfuls of dirt/hair. It keeps it cleaner than normal with my 2 labs running around. But it won't replace the cleaning service.

Having a schedule would be nice for those mornings I forget to start it when I leave for work.

Does anyone know if BBB will pricematch to Home Depot's price? I bought the discovery, not scheduler, yesterday at HD for around $200 and was hoping to rebuy at BBB with a 20% coupon.

I pricematched HD's price at BBB before Christmas for a Discovery model! Deal worked perfect, TWICE!

Good Lord. thanks OP! I have best buy GCs so I'll just buy it there. This place is a mess since roomba1 "bit the dust". LOL, reminds me of a previous thread where some guy was stating that this would be great to ease the load for his pregnant wife, and someone went off on him.

Since I am a newbie here and have never pricematched before, how does that work? Will BBB accept my HD receipt for the price I paid yesterday and then I can use the 20% off coupon on top of that? Anything I should know beforehand as to what to say/do/etc? Thanks!

That's exactly how I did it. I brought in my HD receipt, which only said 'VACUUM' BUT it had the UPC of the roomba on the receipt. So the PM'd it and then added the 20% off coupon on top of the PM no problem! If a manager gives you trouble, tell them a friend already did the exact same deal at another BBB!

I was checking and it appears that Linens-N-Things has it avilable and may price matche? ...I'm not positive..haven't tried but web search says they do? ... if so then again it appears that this 20% code 932100000000 works courtesy of OP HuntersBambi. I may have to jump on this one tomorrow if it works....

It amazingly does work. I was a skeptic at first, but the thing really is impressive. My wife hates it at first, and now she has confessed that it works great. The only problem is my mother-in-law saw it, and now she wants one. Maybe I'll give her my Amazon refurb (which seems as good as new) and get in on this Scheduler deal......

ok can someone please answer why both best buy and bbby near me do not have this?

I had the same exact experience. Both my wife and I love the Roomba. It's almost beat out the Tivo for our affection (new baby won over both, though) Yes it really works well on hardwood floors. I have all wood throughout and that is probably ideal as I imagine it wouldn't be as great on carpet. We've been running it two or three times a day to make sure we catch any problems during the warranty period (I got a refurb so it's only 90 days)

My only complaint would be that it's a little loud on the hardwood although that's the vaccum motor and it tends to bump into stuff real hard and make a racket.

It does wonders on the hardware floors! We love it so much that we bought it as Christmas gifts and I bought stock (irobot/irbt). It also does a great job on the carpet, under beds and most furniture. Try it, you'll love it.

thanks op

It works in term of cleaning out the dirt, but
-it bumps off some furniture paint
-it frequently gets stucked under under-counter cabinet, in our restroom and kitchen.

Thanks op, and thanks redskys for the linens and things heads up. Just got back for $185 out the door. Great deal guys, no problem pricematching and a ton left in inventory in the Oak Brook Terrace location. Just tell the manager you have an internet coupon for 20% off.

you figure they would have made a rubber vesion of this thing already.

Picked one up last night. $329.99 - $100 (PM) - $46 (coupon) + $14.26 (tax) - $39.65 (Dealpass) = $158.60!!!

It's at home now cleaning my apartment!

Can you elaborate? LNT or BBB? What is dealpass?

Some BBBs will not let you use a coupon after they price match - even when you tell them someone else did it at another BBB.

Search Deal Discussion for dealpass. Read up

I bought 4 of these with the PM and 20% coupon. It was a piece of cake.

UH! I called LNT in rockford and they said they called bb and they have it for the same price as them. $329. That the $229 price is an internet only. I said I can do instore pick up though. They didn't care. I might call back. What is the best way to do this. I live 45 minutes away and have too many kids to risk driving over.

EDIT: Called back, the guy gave them the wrong price. Anyway, LTN manager said she would accept coupon. My bed bath and beyond doesn't have them. Only other option would be to purchase it online at Circuit City then go back in with the bestbuy price, but my luck it wouldn't be there anymore. CC.com price is $349!
