If you go to the Macbook page, there is a rebate offer below the laptop detail. here:
Normal purchases should be ok since Apple only says that Education Institution purchases are not eligible? Anyone have had experience with this before?
Frankly, I think the rebate should be ok.. Why would they put the offer at ADC store then?
this is rebate detail: Purchases must be made at the online Apple Store, a retail Apple Store, or through Apple Telesales. This offer is valid only for sales transacted in the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. • This offer is for end customers only. Reseller and Education Institution purchases do not qualify.

Where is the printer deal? On the ADC store? |

yoonminkim said:how much is the applecare from the student store? is it significantly lower than the retail?
Yes. It is an incredible discount. At the student store applecare is $239 for the Macbook compared to $349 at the regular (and developer) store. |

From the ADC Program Information: Please note that purchases made through the ADC Hardware Purchase Program (sometimes called "Developer Plan") are NOT eligible for most Apple or third-party promotions or rebates. You may see wording on an online Store that indicates eligibility, however, please consult the official terms and conditions of all promotional offers before placing an order. There are no refunds on items purchased through the ADC Hardware Purchase Program.
So, YMMV.

I just got off the phone with the ADC rep and they confirmed that systems purchased through the ADC store are eligible for the printer rebate. |

Crap, I placed an order, but I forgot to try FatCash. Can anyone confirm whether FatCash works or not?
I'm still awaiting student verification. I wonder if I should try to cancel my order and place it again w/ FatCash. |

If you don't have the Discount Purchase Asset on your account, they'll reportedly cancel the order for you. Not sure about FatCash, waiting on my verification. |

I know, but I requested a discount purchase asset and my order within minutes of each other. I assume that the former will clear before the later.
Oh well, looks like FatCash is only 1% now (instead of 2% like the OP reported). So I think I will just forget about it. If they cancel my order before the purchase asset clears then I will replace with FatCash. Otherwise I don't think it's worth the risk of losing my purchase asset (and also extending the time to delivery of the product).
EDIT: What's up with the long shipping times? My Macbook isn't going to ship for over a month! I hope Apple is overestimating on that one. |

When is your shipping date? The verification process is pretty quick (less than a day for me) and I couldn't beleive fatwallet reduces Cash Back of Apple. |

March 9. Do you think I would get a later shipping date if I canceled and replaced the order? I might try for the 1% CashBack, but not if my order is going to be further delayed.
Has anyone ever tried to use FatCash with similar discounts, like the student discount?

makeinu: you can reorder first. Then call Apple to cancel your first one. I think you will probably get about the same delivery date. My delivery date is in Feb. Somehow, they don't give me the exact date on receipt.

I got my printer today.
I also got FatCash for it. Since it is on the same receipt as the laptop I assume I will also get FatCash for the laptop. |

Apple is now having the option for faster processor. 2.16GHz Core Duo for $240 (Reg.$300) Still it's kinda expensive upgrade,in my opinion, but I just want to keep everyone updated.

Also, anyone who ordered the 1.6 will recieve a 1.8 at no extra cost, same for the 1.8, you will recieve a 2.0Ghz system. |

Hopefully the automatic order adjustment won't screw up the FatCash. |

FYI, star club reward is giving 20% rebate upto $100 for purchase at Apple.com. They also have other online merchants. It might be worth while joining it before you order from apple.

Other than joining, what do you have to do to get the 20%? I'm skeptical of it working with the ADC store. |
