9.26 for me...too bad there aren't no free shipping codes

FYI I have some of these and they burn at 12X....so anything under 30 for these is hot IMHO

Personally, I would suggest to others that they buy inexpensive Taiyo Yuden media from SuperMediaStore.com. They have a 200 pack of 4x TY shiny silver top for $55.99 shipped. Not only is it cheaper than OP's post, but many reviewers have mentioned receiving 8x or even 16x media instead of 4x. Speaking from personal experience, my brother and I placed separate orders for the 4x TYG01's and we both ended up getting 8x TYG02's instead.

I notice in the Meritline.com recommendation above by kamikadze, the OP that the 100 pack x2 is less than the 200 pack of the DVDs. Maybe they charge a very high shipping charge for them which makes the 200 deal better. It is sort of strange though and if you're going to buy, you might want to investigate this.

If I were buying 4x DVD-R media for my Pioneer DVR-105 I would not want 8x or 16x media substituted. This 4x burner has high PIE numbers when burning any 8x or 16x media at 4x speeds. It has very low PIE numbers when burning 4x TY media at 4x speeds. I used my Plextor 716 (16x burner) to test the quality of the burns. My Plextor can burn 8x media at 4x speeds with very low PIE rates.

I wonder how many other 4x burners are still in use that have this issue and their owners have no clue that their 8x and 16x media has much higher PIE numbers than the 4x media.

I agree. I always burn my video at 4x because it's just more stable. And I know for sure that the 4x Taiyo Yuden discs have better quality than those 8x and 16x discs. That's why I haven't bought anything from SuperMediaStore.com yet. I WANT 4x TY!!!

You mean, You're a retard. Your own link even shows that these are real TY discs, genius. See the same discs HERE from SuperMediaStore.com. These are the 'value line' TY discs, there's nothing fake about them. Get a clue before you post BS.

Well, I guess I could buy silver-top, 4x crap. Or I could just go to the store and buy quality, retail, warrantied 8x/16x discs. Hmmm...tough call. Maybe I should consult the last thread on 4x TY "value" discs...

Alzarius said:I just got 200 of these same TY 4x discs, and have about 7 coasters out of 20 burned so far.

$23 is a fairly good price for ty discs. But watch out for quality inconsistencies in these bulk pack tys from any online merchants. Look for dye imperfections like discoration and cracks in the dye on the outer edges. Many of these tys are quality rejects that the manufacturer unloaded cheaply to online wholesalers. If you're buying these tys for long time storage of precious data, i'd suggest getting them from major retail chains like bb, Staples, or OD when they've got them on sale for 15~20 per 50 pack. It's a bit more expensive, but you're getting grade A disc, and the discs are easier to return if you have a problem with them.

There's another quality disc that just came out: OD's own branded 16X dvd media. These are made in taiwan with Ricoh ID, which uses very good azo metallic dye. They were on sale last week for $24.99 per 100 pack.
