It was 99.99 with 30 rebate just yesterday, but it called it and got it for 79.99 today.
Pros: Free shipping, 34cents/gig after tax and rebate, Cons: 1 yr warranty, 8mb cache
I think this deal is hot cuz I was gonna get the WD 300gb one but I don't need that much space. So for those who wants to save some dough, call in now and get it before the day ends.

I have the item in my shopping cart, but every time I click "Submit order", it takes me back to the same "review & submit your order" screen. Is anyone else having that problem?

Same problem here. I hope I don't find 3 drives on my doorstep. On second thought, maybe it is a good idea since I used a "one-time use" credit card number.

From looking at the picture, this drive appears to be mechanically the same series as the 160GB PATA. If so, I strongly recommend against it. Mine whines so loud I've had to move it out of my desktop and into a server in the next room.
EDIT: Definitely a SATA version of the WD1600JBRTL. Not knocking the OP, just sharing my experience with this short warranty series.

Rebate needed to be postmarked on Feb 15th. Has anyone had their rebate approved with a late postmark. I barely installed the drive a few days ago. Anyhow, this thread is dead if it's too late to send in the rebate.

the given tracking site wdc says contact the retailer for rebate submitted 1/29/2006
