no maxtor, segate and wd is better if you read some related articles. for 1 year warranty, hands down.
I bought several drives from quite a few of these outpo5t threads. Every single drive I bought (that wasn't Seagate) came with a 1 year warrantee. That in itself is not so bad. The real disturbing thing is that when I looked up the serial numbers on the mfg.'s website, the warrantee expiration dates were only a couple of months away. Does anyone have the same experience? Will the hd manufacturers honor the 1 year warrantee without a hassle? Make sure you hold onto your receipts folks!
That how the manufactures do it these days. Unless you have a receipt or some sort of proof when the HDD was purchased then the warranty begins on the date the serial number shows it was manufactured. So theoretically, yuo could buy a drive today htat could be out of warranty unless you saved the receipt. I had a drive crap out 6 months after I bought it, but since I didn't save the receipt I was hosed. I really miss the old days of three and five year warranties without all the finickiness.

use a 20 off 100 coupon and you should be able to get it for for 35 after pm and coupon... not to mention FatCash and rewards
I thought they include the coupon in the pm amount now.
How do Staples coupons and rebates contribute to the Staples price?
When calculating a price match, we’ll deduct any available Staples coupons, Staples Rebates (Instant, easy or mail–in) and manufacturer rebates from the Staples price to arrive at a net price. For example, if you buy an item from us for $100 and we offer a $20 instant rebate, the net price is $80. If another company’s price is $80 or more, we will not match the price. Another example: if you buy an item from us for $159 and you have a $30 coupon, the net price is $129. If another company’s price is $125, your price match would be $4.40 (110% of the difference).
