thanks 4 the info KB

I heard sd500 has defect. Because the LCD breaks easily. But on newer model sd550, the problem has fixed. I got a sd450 and very happy with it.

Haven't gone to school in quite awhile, but isn't a manual SLR normally required ? How does the photographer learn about how to focus properly, depth of filed, developing, etc when using a digital camera ?

yes, a manual SLR is required. however, most decent photography programs now allow a digital SLR to be used (like the ones i mentioned above).

Canon EOS 20D 8.2MP SLR Camera Body
$1299 - 20% coupon: 9TQBRBD53RN8DJ (200 uses) - $35 = $1004
Amazon has it for $1106.69 w/ free shipping. But with D3ll $1004+ $107.17+ (8.25%tax)+$3(freebay $35 coupon)=$1114 +shipping. I guess my conclusion is never mind...

Don't forget the $25 off $999 DPA coupon, making it $979 at Dell.

That return policy can be very convenient for a nice camera like this. If you dont think you are getting your moneys worth, or even if an amazing deal appears at Dell, you could always return it.

If you don't have access to Costco, or know that you will keep and use this camera.. I highly recommend Beach Camera/Buy Dig. The silver body kit is only $756 now with tax only in NJ.($5 more for the black body)

This is the best deal out there right now, and the most straight forward. I'm sure if it was posted as a "Hot Deal" it would only get red because it doesnt involve buying coupons off of eBay, CashBack, DPA/financing discounts, digital coupons, rebates, price mistakes...etc. AND for most people, except the unlucky residents of NJ, it doesnt involve tax. When you add an average 8 percent tax to any Dell, Staples, OD, etc deals under $700, then they aren't so hot compared to this.

I bought mine from them last fall and it arrived next day, even tho I only paid for the $5 Fed Ex Home shipping option (I am in NYC). All the Dell deals were killed with tax for me.

I think the Spring Canon rebates start April 15 tho, so you could try your luck then.

Anyone know if any accessories, memory card comes with the S80? I'm guessing no, because nothing is mentioned on the webpage, but I thought maybe I'm missing something.

You forgot A9.

So Amazon is 1106.69 - 17.38 = 1089.31

Dell w/ DPA $1004 - 25 + 80.77 (8.25 tax) - 31.79 (3% fat cash) +$3 coupon = 1030.98 + shipping

Dell w/o DPA (See above math) + fat cash ($33.42) = 1080.58 + shipping

I guess my conclusion is, if your a9 is active and you have iffy credit, Amazon has the lowest price OTD.

Don't buy Canon DSLR right now. There will be rebates on April. Price drop is expected very soon

You have to pay that tax even if you buy it at Amazon Just not at the time of purchase.

That is true for any purchase, but who actually does? You have to wait 120 days for your Fat Cash to clear.. you could be earning a few pennies on that in interest if it were in the bank..

I would say 8.25% is rather high... all the way around me the highest is 6.5%, I'm at 6%. Moving would be crossing my mind at 8.25%.

I don't know about the price drop, but Canon usually has a spring rebate even from April 15th to July 15th.
