Does Dell take a while to e-mail you an order confirmation? I ordered 2 hours ago, and have not received any e-mail, nor does my order show up when I log into my Dell account.

The S80 comes with a useless 32MB SD card, and of course 1 rechargeable battery + usb cable.

I bought S80 from beachcamera a month back. Those who have to pay Tax at Dell or might have missed this deal can look there (or buydig) .. the price should be around 400 + you can get 50-80 combo rebate for a canon printer.

I fell in love with the camera just by reading the reviews and features. The 28mm zoom feature is great which lets you get so much more in your picture. No more crouching into corners to avoid missing people in indoor pics. Once I got it .. I'm happy but not super excited. Some things do not match the high price tag of the camera eg. the low resolution grainy LCD. Also, atleast the 4x6 prints are not too much better compared to my old 2.1MP sony. That might be probably I've yet to read the manual and learn how to take professional snaps .. or might just be the camera!

I know. I live in a higher tax bracket.. i just kept the other posters math.. I would say 8% is average tho no?

I would say 8.25% is rather high... all the way around me the highest is 6.5%, I'm at 6%. Moving would be crossing my mind at 8.25%.

move to NH where its 0% sales and income tax. makes me want to never leave

If you don't have access to Costco, or know that you will keep and use this camera.. I highly recommend Beach Camera/Buy Dig. The silver body kit is only $756 now with tax only in NJ.($5 more for the black body)

This is the best deal out there right now, and the most straight forward. I'm sure if it was posted as a "Hot Deal" it would only get red because it doesnt involve buying coupons off of eBay, CashBack, DPA/financing discounts, digital coupons, rebates, price mistakes...etc. AND for most people, except the unlucky residents of NJ, it doesnt involve tax. When you add an average 8 percent tax to any Dell, Staples, OD, etc deals under $700, then they aren't so hot compared to this.

I bought mine from them last fall and it arrived next day, even tho I only paid for the $5 Fed Ex Home shipping option (I am in NYC). All the Dell deals were killed with tax for me.

I think the Spring Canon rebates start April 15 tho, so you could try your luck then.

You might want to check out Circuit City this week as well. You can pick up the kit for ~$728 with a 10% coupon. Or if you want the body only you can pick it up for around ~$647.

Where do you find a Circuit City 10% coupon?

Oh dahm!!!!! You HAD to go and show me this????? I spent weeks trying to decide on what new camera to get and was soooo set on the brand new Casio-Z600. Now I see this and it's decision time all over again! (Though I am still eaning toward the Z600 with larger screen and 550 shot battery life!)

Hmm...the SD630 has a 3.0 inch screen!! Sweet! Now...why wound Canon put out two cameras...new....but almost identical??? Both 6 megapixels....one has 4X zoom vs 3X...but other than that and screen size....whats the difference?

The 700 has IS: Image Stablizer technology for steady, long zoom shooting (per their web description).

BTW, I have been looking to buy an ELPH and almost sprung for the SD550 until I read about this one coming out a few weeks ago.

Somebody heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp me!

I'm decide betting getting the Canon SD450 (5 megapixle $220 at Dell), Casio Exilim S500 (5 megapixle $205 at Dell) and Casio Exilim S600 (6 megapixle $284 at Buy.com).

I'm going to tour China this summer, and I need a ultra portable camera for the trip for typical point and shoot use (nothing fancy). Could someone please give me some advice for which one to choose?

My priority in term of importance is:

(1) Portability (size)
(2) picture quality
(3) Price
(4) battery life
(5) reliability/build quality

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I recommend Canon new S3 IS coming out next month OR
Canon G6. Spec are similar BUT if you have kids, you want the flip LCD screen to keep the kids fingerprint off the LCD. High (above the head) or below the waist are easily done with the flip screen.

"We're sorry, the coupon code you have entered has already expired or has reached the maximum redemption limit."

when NOT going through FatCash, the coupon works..

WTF?

Looks like Dell "may" be considering the FW FatCash as a separate non-stackable discount !!

That would stink.

anyone who is purchasing any of these Dell cameras lately been able to get them WITH FREE SHIPPING?

these deals started out with free shipping but seems to have since gone to $8 shipping.

Hi,

I think SD700 uses SD550 chassis but 1/2.5" sensor rather than 1/1.8"
