GlassVial, from being a member of HoFo for about 2 yrs I've learned that adding b at the end of the model that has GSM 850 MHz band is a standard for Nokia. If you look at a tri-band 6230 model you'll see that there's 6230 (GSM 900/1800/1900) and 6230b (GSM 850/1800/1900). Note: 6230i is a different model. There are might be some firmware differences, but that is secondary. b at the end is used to designate that it's made for North American market.

hong said:People waiting for good new deals here!By the way the "Sony Ericsson Z300a"
from Cingular is now $39.99-$20(from DK)= $19.99. I think is not too bad. But not sure if this phone is unlockable. If you know a way to unlock, please post it.

That will require a Cruiser service cable (~ $25) + one credit from unlocking services (DaVinci Team, TotalMultiServer...)
IMO not worth it, unless you're planning on using the phone with Cingular pre-paid / post paid.

so to get it straight i've read the 1st post and it says something about activating your account ?! the sim card i recieve was already activated but w/ only $.01 on it. so i have to activate it with a $10 that was include or else what's gonna happen !?!?!

cuz i just unlocked the phone and used it with T-Mobile ?!?!?!
and if i don't put the $10 on to the pay as you go cingular, they are gonna charge me full price ?!?!
I didn't read that anywhere while going through to order w/ cingular.com and i see no CashBack deal for $20 so please advise!

btw the deal is dead ... price went up to $69.99 unless you want a refurbed 6061 for $34.99.

You only need to add the $10 time and make 1-phone call on that sim if you went thru the dealking rebate to qualify. If you bought it outright, then the phone is yours to use as you please with whatever sim card.

Hi.
Can anyone please help me out with the T-Mobile Wireless Data Configurator.

I couldn't use the Nokia 6030(TMobile ToGo) to access the T-zones.
so, i followed the instructions from the "Quick Summary" in the ist page.
I put 6820 for model# as told. But still couldn't get to access the T-zones(gives me "Packet Data Connection not available").

Then i tried 6030 as my model#. But still i can't access t-zones. Again gives me "Packet Data Connection not available".

How do i set this thing straight?

Thanks for any input.

In order to get the $29.99 Nokia 6030, the Cingular site wants me to choose Pick your Plan which has a monthly charge. Will I be charged the monthly fee regardless of if the SIM included with the phone is activated? I just want to use this phone with a brand new sim card and activate it to replace the RAZR I recently lost. Anyone have any experience with this?
