dont feel too bad. i'm in LA and i have been shot down many times for PM at CompUSA and Circuit City. Sure, LA has many local Fry's B&M locations, but that doesn't change anything. It actually only makes it worse, because a lot of people try to PM and then the managers at OD, OM, CC, and CompUSSR learn to turn you down.

I do CompUSA PM before rebate all the time even use the same CSR. I did the 100GB and 160GB and 200GB, just received the rebates. Green for you OP. Sorry if you don't got a Fry's in your area.

More information: I haven't even had to do the buy and return to PM. I am able to just tell the casher the Fry's price and she either calls for price validation or she just enters the price (I assume she has already validated it that day.) GL

Have to agree "very" ymmv... depends on the local store manager, since the difference is almost half price..

If you live in San Diego, forget about it. I called CompUSSR and asked them about pricematching, without telling the guy about the drive. He said if their price ends up lower, then they adjust it to that it equals what it would be after rebates. And then I said "So if Fry's has a drive and....." and he said "Yeah, the Seagato 300? We have an issue with that. We will have to price ours 60 dollars higher so it comes out to the $79.99 price after our rebates"
