I've got this player and over all it's OK. The file system takes a little time to learn but after that you should be OK. Had to send mine back as the headphone plug started to lose connection and there was no bass but Mach Speed took care of it very fast with a replacement.
As far as the rebate Mach Speed did make an error with my rebate as it sat for months without being processed but one email to Mach Speed and the CEO Bill CALLED me and said if I faxed my copy of the rebate he would make things happen. In about a week I got my rebate but there was a problem...it was for double the amount...$60 instead of $30 as Bill promised. Thanks Bill!! Please make your own conclusion!

Don't ever do Mach Speed rebates. I don't have a copy of my stuff and obviously they never intended to send me my rebate, so it's pretty much a loss of $30. If you like to gamble, go ahead.
Rebate came no problem for me. One tricky thing is that the "UPC" is actually not the one on the box but the little sticker that's in the battery slot in the actual device. At least that's what I sent in (I couldn't find it on box) and the rebate came in "6~8 weeks".
Device itself it alright. It's obviously a cheap MP3 player but for the price it's hard to complain.
beware...this is a junk player. I got one, it was dead on arrival.

Just because something is DOA does not mean it is junk. Even iPods and Zen Vision:M's arrive DOA sometimes.

My experiences trying to get a rebate have been a nightmare. What I get is a note saying I either forgot to submit the serial number or did it wrong. I'd even sent them an email before I sent out the rebate asking which of the two numbers it was! So I'm told the person who entered it probably entered it wrong and I should get it sent out today. Well, that's not happening. Now they want me to resubmit the whole thing over again!
I have never been so frustrated by a rebate company as this one. If it isn't fraud, I don't know what is.
Besides the Better Business Bureau and the FTC, who else should I complain to?
Note: I've read on various forums that even after resubmital of information, they frequently STILL don't mail out the rebate. This is one company I would NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH AGAIN.

DO NOT BUY FROM MACHSPEED. YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR REBATES EVER. Worst customer service, ever. Some of the workers usually troll these threads giving praise to their own support, so beware.

Mach Speed rebate offer is a deceptive business practice to lure consumers to purchase its products at a high price based on its huge advertised rebates and then refuse to honor consumers' legitimate rebate submissions for one reason or another. It is an outright fraud on the consumers. After several months of e-mailing my rebate inquiry to its CSR named Mindy, my two $20 rebate checks for the purchase of Mach Speed Trio 256MB MP3 from TD since October of last year, six months ago, is still nowhere to be found. I finally had to resubmit my claim to TD under TD's rebate guarantee program since Mach Speed outrightly refused to accept its own product UPC bar code. If you think TD was bad, think again since TD is willing to cough up its own money to pay for the outright fraud of Mach Speed.
