Tried PM with Staples. CSR wanted 16 Dollars for Next Business Day shipping Inspite of Reward member Status. Ended up cancelling the Order. CSR tried to give silly reasons....Be Careful |

No, the pocket street doesn't cover the whole US; It is 2005 version; there is no 2006 pocket street

Anyone try pming at Staples?
Successfully PM'd at local Staples. Tried 12% customer appreciation coupon, which they took without question. Then through in a $3 ink coupon for good measure. Sale total was $12.83; only $2.83 after rebate. |

It looks like when I made my pick up in store that it was adjusted to credit me for the rebate...meaning 10 net OTD,although I havent checked my CC statement yet. If so I guess this is part of the no MIR for BB policy on any items? Thanks OP for the heads up. |

All the store price match policies state "item must be in stock at the other store". The point of these PM policies is that you are *choosing* to buy it from Staples when you *could* buy it a the other store. As a *reward*, they will match the price and offer an additional 10% discount on the other store's lower price. |

Got shot down on the PM. Not available on line at BB. Local store shows available, but whoever answered the phone said they don't carry that item anymore, so Staples refused PM. |

Drove to my local Staples (Southern Maryland) during lunch break today and was able to get a PM to Best Buy. Everything went smoothly. I also grabbed one of the handful of used ink cartridges I had lying around and was able to drop the price another $3.
So, I left the store paying $15.74 (includes 5% MD sales tax). 19.99-2-3+0.75. Submit the $10 rebate (a sticker on the front of the box details the $10 Microsoft rebate) and the final price is a bit over $6 (adding the stamp cost).
I currently use S&T 2003 and will gladly update to S&T 2006 for $6. |

I got this with the GPS version. Used it in Jan this year. It sux big time.
The resolution is not clear so the display say I was driving on water as I crossed the bridge. I"m sure the GPS part is good, but the software shows this. And as I reach the end of the bridge, it would show I'm back on on the road.
This software also crashes. The software would just lock up. Have to go into task manager to end it and restart would be fine again.
This software have a major bug. It would just not update your possition as you drive. Just lock right there. Again restart the software would fix this.
Does any1 know of a better software that I can use this GPS with?
Edit: Also, I tried the Smartphone version. It works with the computer. It can not be used by itself. What you do is plot/route/etc on the computer. Then you port it to your PDA/Smartphone. It will create a file and then you upload that file to your PDA/Smartphone. When you turn on the software on your PDA/Smartphone it will read this file and display for you. I created a female/female USB cable to try, but sadly it uses only bluetooth. And the bleutooth part for my GPS (basically a craddle for it to sit in and it's batt powered) is around $100. Amazon have it for $78. Too expensive. |

Recent Garmin product offerings do not support NMEA output (only proprietary Garmin USB output), and so won't work with many non-Garmin mapping software. But there *is* an inexpensive workaround: GpsGate Free 14-day trial, $9.95 for the Express (vs. Standard) version. Trial version installed a short while ago seems to be working fine with my Garmin Etrex Vista C. |

The MS S&T rebates have never been upgrade rebates. This is a good deal for those that don't have a Costco nearby. Costco sells this everyday for $14.99 and often for $4.99AR with coupon.
Cool, thanks for that info. I just started kicking myself since I was at BB early today for some DVD-R's. I'll wait for the $4.99 AR price.

of course that can't be done for rides longer than a few hours, unless you use an inverter...
unless you have a dock for the laptop (as in a stable stand), it's very unsafe (laptop could fall onto floor) and if it's night, could get you into trouble with the law.
Good point. If I recall correctly, CA law now makes it illegal to have LCD screens (over a certain size, phones okay) active in the front (driver and passenger/shotgun) while the car is in motion. |

Anybody figure out what they want for proof of purchase? Says "Original Product Box Top." I take it they mean the Certificate of Authenticity? That's what's on my box top. The front has another barcode. Rebate center shut down now. |

Well... Generally when they say they want the box top, they want the box top as in the whole top.
