I'd get the lowepro nova 2 or 3 AW.
I have the 3 and it is a fantastic bag, fairly small size but holds alot.
Mine has a 10D, 17-40L, 70-200F4L, 50/1.4, tamron 90mm macro, sigma 20/1.8, and tokina 12-24.
Plus a 420ex, extra batterys, cf cards and filters.
It is great for lens changes as it hangs in the right location to change lenses without having to remove the bag.

The AW bags have a pull out attached rain poncho for when you get caught in heavy rain.

As to the backpack camera bags, they are great for taking all your gear to a location to shoot, but they suck for walking as you shoot. Everytime you have to change lenses, you have to remove the bag, find a clean, dry, safe spot to put it on the ground, open the bag, etc. They are horrible in busy cities as everytime you take them off you are susceptible to someone grabbing it and running. Also in crowded places, access to your equipment is always out of your sight while you are wearing it. I have a large tamrac backpack that really ends up being luggage for my gear. It contains all my lenses and my shoulder bag while on the plane and travelling to the hotel. It then sits in the hotel room while I am out shooting. For most people a shoulder bag is the best first bag.

Thanks for the info. Have you tried the Nova 2 to hold your body + 17-40 and 70-200? I don't want to put all my stuff in when shooting on street, just two lens and at most a flash. Seems the Nova 4 is too big though it is cheap.

It should fit fine.
The 2 is 7.75" deep, the 3 is only 7.5" deep.

What the heck?

The product page shows Availability as "Usually ships within 24 hours"

But when I check my Order Status I see this:
Delivery estimate: July 13, 2006 - July 31, 2006

That's almost an 8 week wait!!!

Well, I got my bag a couple of days ago...I'm glad the estimate was a bit conservative.

This is a nice size bag, I'll have nooo problem fitting my 20D with batt grip in there along with some extra lenses and accessories.
