I need to move to a more populated area to take advantage of this thread, lol. Guess I'll just chew on my ELK burger here in the middle of nowhere, Montana.

Macoroni Gril is the place to go for your birthday. I am not aware of free food offerings, but what they do for you is get an OPERA singer (who happens to work there) to sing "Happy Birthday" in Italian (i think)... pretty cool

Uggh, I know what you're talking about. You have an "opera" singer around anyways. At least there was one around when I went. He wasn't very good either . Trust me, you DON'T want them to sing you happy birthday. Actually, I believe he sang it in English. (It was some other table.) Basically, it was a version that was "operified" so that people who wouldn't know better thinks it was something special. Personally, it made me want to puke .

Of course, if you don't mind singing being completely hammed up, go for it. It'd be a lot hotter if there was some food free, though .

FJ the Macaronni Grill that is near me (Burnsville Minnesota) used to have a true Opera singer that was studying Itallian. I know I used to go to school with her, she was very very good. I do love that place..the bread rocks. We usually just eat the bread and get our meals to go.

Anybody know if Buca's offers you anything on your birthday? A bowl of gralic mashed potatoes perhaps .... since everything comes in large portions anything free is probably worth $10-20

Heard the Macaronni Grill opera singer here in Cincinnati the first time I went there and thought it was a hysterically funny joke until I looked around and realized it was supposed to be for real!

It wouldn't have embarassed ME! I would have enjoyed making the ba*tards live up to their policy.

After I had finished eating, of course. Don't want any spit (or worse) in the food.

They make all sorts of hamburgers. You just tell them the size of meat (and any special stuff) you want and top it your self with lettuce tomato etc.

i didn't see anyone mention Famous Dave's Barbeque. you sign up in advance & they send you a card redeemable for a free meal (no b1g1; a complete full dinner). they'll do it for birthdays, anniversaries, who knows what else, they seem to be pretty liberal about it. i know they are in minnesota, south dakota and i think wisconsin and illinois.

403forbidden, which Todai did ya go to? There are a couple here in SoCal near me so I'll avoid the one you went to with the sneaky waitress.

Do these restaurants believe your word that it's your birthday or do they require some form of proof? Should I carry my passport with me???
